Netcrashing: Who do you think is Canadas team now?

When the Montreal Canadiens were eliminated on Monday, it meant that the Stanley Cup would definitely be claimed by an American-based team for the 16th straight season.

Pretty typical of leaf fans to think thet the whole country cheers for the laffs. They are a horrible team and I would never cheer for them!!!

I hate both teams and won't even be watching the Stanley Cup Finals. If San Jose or Montreal would have made it, I would have watched, but I can't watch either of these teams.

    Who is Canada's team now?

I'd say we don't have a team now.

I like both teams and think this final is gonna be a real barn burner.
    Cheering for the 'Hawks though.

Strictly based on roster numbers, Philly has 23 Canadians to Chicago's 21. Flyers are going to pummel Chicago!!!!

Hawks will take it, I think. Though they'll get pretty beat up in the process--see how they like getting their goalie run!

I agree, Flyers are going to push them to the brink, but Toews is just too determined and is on an absolute tear. I think it will ultimately come down to goaltending, and Leighton just isn't ready for the fire power of Chicago's first, second or third line, and especially not with Byfuglien crowding every look. Hawks in a tight 6.

I don't know about Canada's team, but I nominate Chicago as BC's team. Seabrook, Ladd, Brower, Beach, Fraser - all BC boys. Even Byfuglien played for the Prince George Cougars. Their scouts were smarter than our scouts. They came to BC.

Also they beat us fair and square. So let the team that could beat the Canucks win the cup, I say.

I have the rosters in front of me right now and Chicago has 20 Canadians, Philadelphia 18.

Me too. The Hawks were the first team that I followed from back in the Stan Makita and Tony Esposito days.

As for rosters...Chicago has Toews - Mr. Canada.

I'm a sentimental Flyer's fan from way back but I've always liked Chicago's emblem and was a big Makita and Esposito fan myself.

And unless things have changed recently, the 'Hawks have the number 1 selling team emblem of any professional sport team ie; jerseys, caps, etc..

I didn't know that their merchandise was selling so well...I thought that maybe Pittsburgh was still the top due to Crosby.

That's great! There are some awfully talented Canadians in the matchup that's for sure...Toews and Richards to merely scrape the surface.
