    "(Task Force Kandahar) and 1-205 Corps ANA soldiers have been working extremely well together and this isolated incident does not reflect the close working relationship that both our organizations enjoy," Brig.-Gen. Dean Milner, the Canadian commander of troops in Kandahar, said in a statement.

    I'd say it reflects the 'close working relationship' in a nutshell.

    Winston summed it up in 1897;

    Khan assails khan, each supported by his retainers. Every tribesman has a blood feud with his neighbor. Every man's hand is against the other, and all against the stranger.

    Nope, the solution is obviously to keep a few legions there permanently to pacify the region. If we don't keep fighting them there, we'll just be fighting them here.

    Outstanding game. :lol:

    Reference this friendly fire incident... Nobody got hurt, shit happens, move on. Remember that their army is mostly green recruits. There are bound to be a few bad apples.

    CM, how can it be 'friendly fire' when they intended to shoot at our guys?

    Friendly fire is never friendly. I don't understand how the term came to manifest itself, but I use it whenever someone who is supposed to be friendly is shooting at me or someone else deemed friendly, accidental or intentional.

    Again, a couple bad apples in a Candac doesn't make the whole Afghan army our enemy.

    Andy, if you read up on history you'll see that Afghanistan has been nothing but a meat grinder for some 2,500 years. No one is going to win anything there. Ever.

    I agree, but I think we are pissing in the wind trying to train these guys.
