OTTAWA � A federal government employee who spent as much as five hours a day searching pornographic personal ads on his office computer and sending naked photos of himself from his work e-mail has kept his job.

    I doubt it. Private businesses still adhere to the same Canadian Labour Code that government jobs do. While it's satisfying to believe his bosses would have dumped him on the sidewalk with a cardboard box of his stuff, chances are they would have had to do up disciplinary letters, performance agreements et cetera.

    Now, if the CBSA employees are part of a union, that's a different ball game. But that's union versus non-union firings.

    This guy is addicted to porn. Addiction is a form of disability. So of course they can't fire him. They'll have to find a way to accommodate his disability instead.

    The guy was watching up to five hours while on the job, so he was already screwing the pooch - don't think you want to risk giving him a real one.
