A man was shot in the chest early Friday morning after trying to break in to a home of a former girlfriend, according to police.

I'm glad she's safe and she had every right to do what she did, but broadcasting it like this after she asked not to be identified in news reports looks bad and she should probably take it down.

An ex-boyfriend isn't family but I'm sure that won't stop some disingenuous hoplophobe from incuding this event in the domestic violence stats and the 'accidental shooting' stats, too.
