Britain will send two troop-carrying Chinook helicopters and new surface-to-air missile system to the Falkland Islands, amid fears Russia could be arming the Argentine government.

    oh goody, what's a war (Crimea) if it's not a World War... are they going to push the Spaniards' claim to Gibraltar? I think it may be time for Prussia to reassume Kaliningrad as the rightful Koenigsburg ;D

    I think we should care. If things keep going the way there are going the Cold War will kick off again and the Falklands could become a hot spot.

    Hopefully the Royal Navy and Marines haven't been austerity-cutted to the point where Whitehall has the convenient excuse already built in to quietly give the islands up because it'd be too expensive to try to keep them. These are British citizens too living down there, not some aggrieved colonial subjects clamouring for independence. Politicians everywhere are completely untrustworthy but these days British ones seem even more unreliable than most.
