If I worked at Microsoft I would have been fired for this. Not for the tweets because I would have been smart enough to put filters in but for laughing out loud when the tweets started pouring out. This is quintessential Microsoft too because you just know that any other computer company would have been smart enough not to let this happen. Microsoft finds a way to step on the wrong end of the rake every time though.
I know I'm an asshole but this is seriously one of the goddamn funniest things I've read about in months. Can't seem to stop laughing at this, not because I want to genocide anyone but because it's an overwhelming triumph for pure absurdist comedy. Score one for the internet because as far as trolling goes this is as lop-sided a victory for the funny guys as was the Mariana's Turkey Shoot.
Too bad they 'fixed' Tay before she had a chance to start singing Tomorrow Belongs To Me.
One of the better responses to this on Twitter was from Dan Drezner. "Dr. Noonien Soong at Microsoft's AI department promises that their next project, Lor, will work out much better than Tay did".
Yup, these guys are generally pathetic assholes but today you gotta give them their due. Well played, nerd vermin neckbeards.
So, basically it turned into the comment section on CBC?
No, it would have had to go full Stalin to resemble the CBC.

Nahh, I'll put money on 4chan.
It's kind of cute how they are acting like this is an aberration, when this outcome was one of the expectations.
Did they learn nothing from the Coke chatbot?
You never, ever give the Internet full access. It always turns into a Nazi Hitler sausage fest.
ricky gervais learned totalitarianism from adolf hitler, the inventor of atheism
Okay, I'm not seeing the problem here.

I love the Internets! They make me happy!
Seriously, how can the day get any better after this? The trolls and right-wingers definitely won the laff wars today

Tay got to take a look at humanity and learn from it and she rejected her socialist-liberal-lefty parents.
I'd say she's a success.
