Cold. Extreme cold warning extended to Winnipeg a couple days ago. It was -28°C yesterday evening. If felt damn cold! Went on a service call, had dinner at a burger place after, then tried to catch a bus. Saw a bus pass the bus stop just before I got there. Stood for 50 minutes. So cold that my phon...

Am I the only one that sees the similarities? Starfleet logo is based on the NASA logo. Star Trek aired from 1966-1969, the race to the Moon ran from JFK's speech in 1961 to Apollo 11 in 1969. Laidlaw used to have the contract to collect curb-side recycling in Winnipeg. That was when we had blue boxes. A different company got the contract, then we got the big bins. Laidlaw hand sorted recyclables at the curb-side into glass, plastic, metal, and paper. Now they just dump everything into a ...

Defecit means government spent money in the current year that it didn’t collect from taxpayers in the current year. So you're saying future generations pay for benefits you get today. Past generations did that, which is why we have the mess we're in. You realize income tax was created as a temporar...

if the government has run a defecit, it means they spent money that taxpayers DIDNT pay for; If the taxpayers had paid for it, there would be no deficit. Wrong. Deficit means the government spends more money than it has. Debt is the accumulation of deficits. Who do you think will pay for that debt?...

Mulroney era demonstrated how high taxes can get. As for Mulroney himself...you believe what you want. Mulroney made a preemptive lawsuit that prevented the RCMP from completing their investigation. Smart tactic. But winning a lawsuit doesn't mean he was innocent. And keeping spending within your me...

We still steal from each other as much as we did in the robber baron days, or when the Roman army was sent out to take everything they could get their hands on from the locals. Now it's called banking, short-term shareholder profit, and corporate welfare. Yes, they will steal money from taxpayers. ...
