Let me clarify, life after oil patch oil. The rest of the world will still produce oil, but if we can't get our oil to market, Alberta Oil and the industries that support it will die.

As will the bulk of Canada's nano capabilities, and meta material capabilities.

Oh well.

[ Yep, and it's sad, because our future is going to look a lot like post-coal Manchester or the US Rust Belt if we don't figure out now where to focus our energy and talent. If we do it now, we can leverage all the world-class talent we have to turn fledgling industries into something that can prov...

If I was living in BC....I would be far, far, far more concerned with where the IP's, I need to run my new toys, just went.

Whoops.

They better make sure they don't out compete and American firms now.

Trudeau's policies push jobs out of Canada, destroying the livelihood of many Canadians, and you celebrate? Have you no shame? These people had the rug pulled out from beneath them by the Liberal regime. :( -J. Why shouldn't Bart celebrate? We all know exactly where all of their best and brightest ...

Albania gave Kosovo port access within 1 year of independence. After Kosovo hummed and hawed for almost a decade in developing their own port...in Albania, Albania gave them access in another port, and reclaimed their original offering...which I believe they are selling to China. South Sudan has gua...

OK now I am intrigued. I love a good conspiracy. It's not really a conspiracy when all 3 are already pushing the legal limits in the arctic.... UNCLOS. The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, right? So if I understand it correctly this one says Russia, China and the US want to dissolve...

Which foreign players are those? Do you mean the ones like 'Tides Canada' in San Francisco behind the Anti-Alberta oil push? Yes, but more directly, I mean Russia, China, and USA...all of which stand to gain a great deal if Canada decides to reneg on UNCLOS, down to the very letter. We are a sheep ...

Give it a couple months, and it will be forgotten.

I am willing to put money down that foreign players will stoke this fire a lot more than what your previous experiences allow for.

There is too much hay to be made here.

Canada can't deny an UNCLOS request.

Her sovereignty, literally, relies on it.

Canada would be afforded the luxury of which shipping method they prefer.

Personal debt used as a way to borrow income from the future only works if future income increases. Unsurprisingly, lol, the PBO has a calculator for this...they should run for office, ffs... https://www.pbo-dpb.gc.ca/web/default/files/Documents/ElectionProposalCosting/Tool/index...

But even in a tiny economy like Canada, debt can be used to create jobs and increase the tax base, which brings in more tax. This is a result of providing needed capital. How the capital is obtained is separate from what the capital is used for. Just like personal debt, far too much of our national...

Demonstrates my point though. Sovereign debt is not the same as personal debt. Not really. For a middling power like Canada, national debt acts internally in pretty much the same way as personal debt. It is only internationally that it acts any differently. If our leadership was smart, the only con...

For reasons that Canada can not replicate.

But, why bother letting that get in the way of anything.

Her speech was effectively the same talking points I've heard before when I saw it on CTV News. I still maintain that while she believes what she say, I can't help get the inkling that some unscrupulous adults are exploiting her; a sixteen-year-old with Aspergers, OCD, and history of depression and...

I watched this via CTV live stream.

Everyone there made it into an absolute embarrassment for their own side.

It was highly entertaining.
