| I remember a year or so ago watching a news program on CBC or CTV about the current and future look at government programs, specifically CPP. It mentioned that a few decades ago (when the baby boomers were all working) there were six workers for every one pensioneer, and as time went by and the boom... |

| [huh] Correct me if I'm wrong here. But with less people working than before and more people taking their pensions, there is less being put into the EI and CPP funds, so to make up for the shortfall the gov needs to raise the rates to keep both EI and CPP programs afloat. If that is the case, the ra... |

| A few days ago, the Japanese government announced that it has selected the F-35 JSF as the winner of it's FX fighter competition over the other two contenders; F/A-18 Super Hornet, Eurofighter Typhoon. The aim of the FX competition was to find a replacement for the aged F-4EJ Phantoms currently in s... |

BartSimpson BartSimpson: peck420 peck420: Shouldn't we reserve the title 'Carrier' until after aircraft have actually launched and landed on it? I imagine it can carry aircraft. Past that is just mere speculation.
Question is, do Chinese built aircraft have the quality and endurance to take the stress of a carrier launch and landing? |

| That's pretty close shadowing. But yet, the helmsman might be distracted by the captain and xo's debate on how to best take mao's flatop to the bottom. Standard adcap torpedo, tomahawk volley, or go full on Michael Bay style with a nuke torp? Tomahawks are out, TASM was retired. Sub-Harpoons would ... |

| Nice bomb view of the chinese carrier. I think, if you look really closely, you see the American nuclear submarine already tailing it. That's pretty close shadowing. | Agreed but give the decision making entirely over to the military and just give them a budget to stay on. Yep. Then we let the politicians work on the offset negotiations with the manufacturer. The problem with letting that happen is the Air Force will ask for the Cadillac and get pissed off when t... |

| I used to be a huge supporter of us getting the JSF, but after keeping tabs on the program the past couple of years or so, my support for it has tanked like Pauly Shore's movie career. In my opinion, we pull out and call an open competition for the CF-18 replacement. |
