[71 Canadian VCs in WW1.. It's too bad Canadian history classes don't teach those facts. It does. Teach things like the 71 Canadian VCs? Not when I was in school, and certainly not in the crop of history books I see in my current school board. And the board I'm currently at has far better history b...

I read about that in my local newspaper. I think I remember reading that CTV, and at least one other media outlet, caved into the Saudi pressure.

I just wonder how many more military heroes this country has in obscurity.

I hope Charles doesn't abdicate, mainly for that it wouldn't be fair to William. He just got married and graduated university, has just begun his military career, his many works with charities and aid organizations, and still has MUCH to learn prior to him acsending the throne. Just throwing him int...

We've had portraits of the Queen in hockey arenas for god knows how many decades, but only just NOW in our embassies?

In the school board I work for we have classrooms, and places in several of our schools that are specificaly catered for special needs kids. All the teachers and EAs have the certifications for that type of environment, but on the rare occasion, something like this can happen. A few years ago, an EA...

Yea, but appearently that wouldn't make good movie material. Honestly, I wonder how we'd do. We got a lot less troops than the Americans, but we're a primarily mechanized army. Wonder if that'd help or if it'd be more of a pain. :? The Canadian Forces probably wouldn't fair well against the Battle:...

Titanic in 3D? Sure I'll go watch it, but like you said, only after the iceberg hit, that's when all the visuals come in. That be something to see 3D. I've been a big fan of the transformers franchise since the original cartoon came out in '84. Beast Wars, Unicron Trilogy, Robots In Disguise, Transf...

Agreed, I watched Pirates of the Car 4 in normal 2D and other than one scene I couldn't find anywhere where 3D would have lent it anything extra. Also agreed about T3 went in with very high expectation but came out with a numb bum from watching a 3 hr long movie ! I love 3D but when I feel its done...

Like I said in the other rise of the apes threads. This is the kind of stuff I go to the cinema for. I'm gonna be all over this movie ! If I want to watch a touching drama I can watch it on my TV at home and it takes nothing away from the movie. But for big bad ass action flicks you need the big sc...

Film looks like a good sci-fi/war movie. I'll go see it next year. According to producers, the film will show the conflict from both the human and alien perspective. I really hope the movie makers will keep the alien weaponry in check, just like Battle: L.A. did, and not have super overpower Ion, pl...
