Rhetoric or not, Canadians talk the talk but don't walk the walk regardless of who's in power. Don't think the Ruskies are the ones we should be worrying about. Very true, Canucks demand we send our military into many of world's most violent shitholes, but refuse to fund them the tools to do their ...

I seem to remember many Harper promises of an arctic deep water port, armed patrol vessels, some sort of tracking station to detect passage through the NWP and the like....where are those? From what I remember, the deep water port is years from being ready, the patrol vessels can't pass through the...

Not that I was running out to see this, but you might, out of consideration, want to put a spoiler alert on this.

I went to see the newest Transformers film last night, and...well...wow....in my view it sucked. It really sucked, and is the worst of the trilogy for me. Spoilers ahead The film started out alright, and despite having a somewhat Ok plot, the film managed to sway away from it after the first hour. ...

Would that be considered using the letter of the law to defeat the spirit of the law?

I like the idea of NATO powers having more influence in the world, but we've all seen what happens when Europe is full of large armies 8O As for Russia, next year could be very interesting. Medelev is up for re-election, but Putin is eligible to run again, and likely will. In an election between Ba...

Russia's current president is very much in the same mindset as Putin (Putin endorsed Dmitry's presidential campaign). We might the same in him as we did in Putin. China is a bit of a gray area though, if I'd had to guess I'd say probably India or Vietnam would be in their sights. The absence of a U....

The US is starting to head back towards isolationism and is entering a phase of decline under Mr. Obama. This leaves US allies having to consider a future absent the protection of a US military umbrella. If this U.S. decline continues to the probable isolationist position mentioned in later posts (...

An idea just came to me after reading bootlega, and ShepherdsDog's posts.

Would it be a better policy to limit the removal of dictators to the ones that threaten both their own national populations and the neighbouring nations, or just the ones that threaten their own national populations?

I only ask because, Daffy is still in power and they say the cost will be in the ball park of 60 mill in the next few months. So really your statement shows a complete lack of comprehension. :? Maybe you should read it again... Oh I am completely aware that Daffy is still in power. I am also aware ...
