The personal attacks have gotten out of hand. The criticism of people for their grammar, spelling or content has been apparent for a long time . Even some of our most decorated members are guilty of that. Maybe this will turn the page.

I do not see this as any sort of problem. The usual assumption is that anyone who is literate is credible due to experience or education and that assumption is general throughout the workplace and society. Typos are normal but coherence and understandable posts should be expected by everyone.

maybe I should clarify, there are limits which some times get pushed too far.

For my part in the brouhaha, I apologise. I just found some of the opinions about the CBC at such odds with my 20 years+ in the television business and one thing obviously led to another. Quite honestly, Canada does kick ass and it drives me bats when I see it being run down by those who call it home. We have much to be proud of from coast to coast to coast and for my part as an occasional poster in things getting out of hand, I apologise to the somewhat-more-regular posters here.
