Agree 100%. There is something about the older planes that the newer generation of jets don't have.

Agree 100%. There is something about the older planes that the newer generation of jets don't have.

My father trained to fly one in WWII, and was navigator on a Lancaster. When I was young, we built a wood model of a Mosquito together that I still have, and it pretty much has that exact paint job. We put the three white stripes just in front of the tail though.

I was in California this last week and apart from a few days at Disneyland and a day in San Diego, I went to the Planes of Fame Airshow in Chino. And along with a wicked sunburn in places, I got to see some vintage planes I'd never seen before as well as more Mustangs at once than I ever have.

Isn't the Sabre the most beautiful jet aircraft ever made?

It truly is. Not only did the designers at North American create one of the finest performing planes ever made, but they also created and airborne work of art.
