Isn't the Sabre the most beautiful jet aircraft ever made?
I was thinking the P-38. It's one of the aircraft that holds my gaze the longest.

I went to SKyfair again at the Flying Heritage Collection this weekend. And even though I'd seen all the planes before (including the F-86 and Mig-15) it was still great. And even though it was the first rainy day in the Pacific Northwest in a good month, the atmospherics made for some good pictures nonetheless. The one of the Sabre and Mig in flight is one I'm especially proud of.

It was Airshow weekend again here in Abby and I managed to go on the one day that wasn't very sunny.
Still, it was a great show and I got to see some planes I'd never seen before. Including a B-17 that I got to crawl through. And I say crawl without hyperbole. When I was in California this last May I went to the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum and found out quickly that I'm too tall for the navy (I'm 6'3"). After shimmying through that B-17 I now know that I also way too tall for the air force.
I also learned that each of the 10 crew members couldn't weigh more than 120 lbs. Even if I was in shape I doubt I'd make that weight. But, I digress....

Is that a Spitfire in the middle pic?
120 lbs? Guess people were really smaller then.

It is.
I guess so. Though, at FHC in Everett, they have the tail gunner section from a B-17 and one of the docents I was chatting with mentioned he met a tail gunner who was over 6 ft. tall..
But definitely people were lighter then. There were barely any processed foods and refined sugars like there is in damn near everything these days.

Here's the same B-17 flying over my neighbour's house (July 27).

It sure is. They were moving it to the hot ramp so I got some nice close ups.

Nice. Too often people miss these interesting small things while looking around for the huge landscapes.

Friend of mine was returning from his last ice fishing expedition in the Whiteshell, and spotted this beauty.

I saw four or five just where I park my car at work. There are a lot of white tailed Jack Rabbits around. Edmonton's river valley really is a treasure!
But a white wolf is truly rare.

Went to FHC in Everett, WA to see their newly restored Mosquito take to the skies in public for the first time. This brings the number of airworthy Mosquito's in the world up to three. And I'm proud to say I've seen two of the three and they both sound and look glorious.
