bootlegga bootlegga: Whatever...I guess it's time to build that pipeline from Edmonton to Prince Rupert and sell our oil to Asia instead of the US. Given that the market over there is five times larger than the US and we have a multi-racial population, it's just a matter of time before we look in that direction anyways. Might as well be sooner rather than later.
The Indians won't let us.

Strutz Strutz: Wasn't there just another thread about this a couple of weeks ago that involved another news story of the same? The US/Canadian border is a bigger threat than the US/Mexico border? Seriously? Please... how many people are being shot around this one? Are they just trying to divert everyone's attention to the north so that the reality of what's happening in Mexico isn't front-page news anymore? As far as not sharing "no fly" lists... I was under the impression that this became mandatory long time ago. Perhaps I'm mistaken about this though. The fat head in Washington dealing with is Janet Napolitano. She has stated to the US Senate that the Mexican Border is "As Safe as it ever was". That is code for I don't have any clue as to what to do. To appear like she is actually doing something she can always bring up "The Canadian Border Problem; again she wasn't a F clue what is going on except it for some reason some of the other fatheads (The ones in the US Senate) seem to be swallowing this BS easier. Eric Holder our Attorney General another fat head seems to agree with this. I'm disgusted with the whole bunch. The idea of when in doubt about what to do -Blame Canada. It is quick and easy. If I were Canadian I would be insulted to the Nth degree. I know because I am an American and I find this insulting to the Nth Degree.

If you want to sit around and gossip like little old ladies Tim's coffee is best. If you want to wake up in the morning or drive 300 miles at 3:00 am, Starbucks. Even their doubleshots in the soft drink cooler.. Holy Shit!

DanSC DanSC: Zipperfish Zipperfish: If you're the US sitting on about 50 million nuclear bombs, absolute planetary military supremacy and a population of ten times Canada, and you are threatened by Canada, you're probably the kind of guy who screams and runs out of the house when he sees a mouse.
Wrap that up with a jingoistic, nationalist media that laid the blame for 9/11 on Canada's doorstep--even while we were landing their planes--and you get why the US is a basket case. No one in the U.S. is scared of Canada, even if Canada wasn't a staunch ally. The Americans are worried about how easy it is to cross the border. Combine that with the vast amount of coastline Canada has, and it would be quite simple to sneak something into Canada and then pass it over the border. The same couldn't happen in Mexico without the cartels knowing about it; they'd just shoot you. Those dirty bombs snuck in and going off every six months must be a real pain... Next stupid tinfoil trailer...

DanSC DanSC: herbie herbie: Yeah tell us how simple it is to sneak something into Canada. We need a good laugh. You won't have luck if you go through the big 24-hr crossings. Go through the rural one-man crossings, or just cross on the open prairie. Please... build a wall. Please. Maybe it'll stop the draft dodgers and potheads from flooding us as asylum seekers. Next stupid tinfoiler trailer...

Yes but when you're a Canadian and use to it, you don't mind as much. Every year is some new thing the U.S. blames Canada for its problems. I suspect it's because we never call them on there bs. Just let them slander our names to better there political careers. Except for that whole bs story going around U.S. politicians mouths about EVERY terrorist that ever attacked the U.S. including the 9/11 terrorists came from Canada's "failed security". I think our government called them out on that one.

For hot coffee, I would give the nod to Tim's. They have a good strong cup of Jo with real cream, none of that half and half bullshit like Starbucks. I would give second place for coffe to Dunkin. Thier hot coffee is good {not as strong as Tims} and real cream as well. Donuts would have to go to Dunkin, unless you are totaly into glazed donuts. Then a Krispy kream shop where they make the donuts on premises would have to be your first choice. You would be amazed at how many hot, glaze melting donuts you can actualy consume at one sitting. For cold coffee drinks, I would give the nod to Starbucks. As Herbie stated, they have a double shot iced coffee that is better than crack for staying awake!

I don't drink coffee except once in an emergency. Nothing like a Starbucks cappucino with a triple shot of espresso to keep you going for a 9 hr drive on 4-5 hrs sleep. The only thing better is ThermoChrome

Almost anytime america comes up in political discussion it's used as a bad example. We've even had members of the gov't talk shit about the "damn americans". Unless they're talking about actual policy that would be harmful to Cananada, it's best to just ignore the petty shit. Do our best to correct misconceptions or ignorance, of course, but getting worked up over any of it is a waste of energy.

Now that I think about it, it was right about the same time that I quit smoking that I started spending hours a day hanging out in Tims. Tims could have been the original nicotine patch. I spent hours a day in there drinking coffee and talking B.S. The atmosphere is very addictive as well.

US have to take care more about their border with Mexico than grow up problems with friendship nation. They have a quarrel with large part of planet, so it seems like it's not enough for them.

Why at any time if we wanted, we could march on the US, hockey sticks at the ready with our maple syrup molotov cocktails hanging from our hunting jackets and curling teams at the front to sweep away any landmines and barbed wire, and storm Mackinaw City
