How do we get the criminals to wear the RFID tags?

put it in the ear I guess. But I meant those cards they want people to carry when crossing the borser. If they put unmanned border crossings on backroads so that ytou can wave your card and leagaly cross the border, sell your weed, buy a case of beer, a carten of smokes, and a big can of snuff, a new rifel and drive back.

You know what, Canada deployed military forces to Louisiana when Katrina hit (thank you, by the way! [flag] ) and are you going to tell me the CF had no plans to cover such a contingency? Do you really think they're that stupid to deploy without plans?

Of course not.

While there was a plan in place the Friday before we left when the go order was given, it was a tad of a mad house. Half the ship's company was still on summer leave. Man did they love hearing from me as I did the recall  Three days later and we were ready to rock, but still loading supplys as we got ready to slip. Even told the PM and his little flock they could not come on board until we had stopped lifting pallets of generators over their heads :)

Thank you. You guys made a difference and I've heard no end of compliments about your chopper jockeys from various sources including Wayne Ashley, a California Highway Patrol Captain who hitched a ride with your boys.

Streaker Streaker:

Precisely the kind of smugly dismissive reply I might have expected.

You guys have contingency plans. No big surprise, so long as Canadians are aware of them and disabuse themselves of any naive illusions they may have about their relationship with the US.

Anyhow, I see that you have been well indoctrinated, Cap'n Bart.

We have plans for all sorts of shit. We have plans for imposing martial law in the USA (which caused a stink a few years ago) and then Katrina came along and we implemented those plans and saved a lot of lives.

Plans for entering a country do not necessarily mean we are doing so against the wishes of that nations legitimate government.

We invaded Panama with the blessing of the elected government and we gave them the keys to the country and bugged out as soon as the mission was completed.

We invaded Kuwait at the request of the Kuwaiti government.

We've been in the Dominican Republic so frequently it may as well be a state.

Canada is in Haiti with an invitation.

We're in Liberia with an invitation.

Fine.

My point still stands, however: The Canada-US border is not "undefended". That myth is pure bull.

Streaker I'm not sure about classified plans but the 1960's, October 1970, and 1980 plans sound like they were desinged to deal with an independant Quebec. I wouldn't be surrprised if Canada has contributed to those plans, providing strngths of units such as the Vignt douxs which may be dissolved for instance.

A possible but not entirely plausible scenario. Trudeau wouldn't have been the type to surrender Canadian sovereignty in that manner, IMHO.

Yeah, I remember that armed border between the US & Canada when I crossed it at Blaine & White Rock...

It's not our job to monitor who gets into their country.

True. Glad you don't mind someone down here is finally doing the job.

I hate to say this and kick a can of worms, but if we were to invade it would be with much more than a few helicopters and some overrated police officers...or are you saying that such a force constitutes a threat to Canada?

I believe it was one of your presidents who wrote something about people giving up liberty for security deserving neither.. I'd be happy if America didn't export the values of the people who think this is incorrect.

As long as these forces stay on our side of the border, then what concern is it of yours?

If you folks rolled a whole armoured division up to White Rock I might come up to have a look-see and chat up the guys, but I wouldn't presume to bitch about what you do in your own country.

hmmm.....anybody remember the six day war of 1967?

What concern indeed.

So I should be concerned about Canadian intent if an armoured division took a position close to our border?

Should I be concerned that your air force is going to attack the Stupor Bowl tomorrow?

Should Mexico be concerned about the Canadians who are always training at Pendelton? Ohmigod, are they going to invade Mexico?

The USA is not about to go off and invade Canada - then the liberals would have no place to run to dodge the draft!
