I can hoestly admity, that though I don't want an election (simply for the waste of money) I'm tiring quickly of the minority governments and the ever present threat of elections. I'm tired of policies that are essentially short sighted, or if not short sighted, then vague enough that accomplishment is uncertain - see icebreakers and northern defence.

At this point, pull the plug on this parliament, it's time has come.

It would be nice. I'm with Gunnair, either give Harper and the cons a majority so he can effectively get shit done, or give Iggy and the Libs a minority for 6 months to see if we find him more palatable then the current gov.

What I would not liek to see is another conservative minority, or a Liberal majority with an untested leader.

I still have yet to decide which way I'd vote should an election be called. I might just flip a coin.

Wow, I leave for a day and miss all this!

OK then, back to the question.
My answer is NO.

Why:
- I hate elections!
- I'm not convinced that Iggy would do a better job right now.
- Stability is probably the best thing we can have and another election would do us no good. Unless Harper and the Cons become complete idiots in the near futur, let them do their job.
- Let Iggy sit where he is for a while, prove he has something good/better to give Canadians.

Remember that?
Another Liberal failure.

Give someone a majority, either way the next PM will be a conservative, if not an actual Conservative.

No.

I've enjoyed the minority governments. No one party holds enough seats to pass a dramatic legislation that strays too much from the mainstream.

However they're both conservative, and I'm actually yet to see any real differences between Iggy and Harper. Iggy has not yet defined himself fully and what he'll stand for.

Running an election on welfare is blatant votemongering and disgraceful. Our EI system isn't broken. Its simply not much of an issue currently.

I might just vote Green for the first time ever.

It will be tough to jam that into your already busy schedule of work, showering excessively and being ignorant to the World around you.

I agree, but I can't see a majority on either side. The problem is that we have a province that cares not about the rest of Canada and has enough seats to ensure that we have to pander to them.

Electoral reform is the only solution..

Oh, I don't have anything too drastic in mind. Simply institute runoff voting for all 308 ridings and problem solved.

The Bloc only has about 38.1% of the popular vote in Quebec, yet they manage to obtain a plurality in nearly two thirds of the province's ridings..
