This is funny. Wendy Cukier is a paid, unregistered lobbiest for gun control and she's quoted ads-nausim by the Libs but O'Connor is evil because he's the only defence minister in living memory that ever served in the forces.
PMPM ran on handgun controll and it sucked. I suggest you guys take another big run at it.

You do understand the difference between opinion and fact right?

Lets break it down going by the recent polls and pick out fact from opinon.

The bloc won't win ........ Fact.
The NDP won't win ........ Fact.

The Libs will win ........... Opinion.
The CPC will win ........... Opinion.

The CPC won't win a majority ........... Fact.

political parties get so corrupt they end up distroying themselves. Thats what happened with the PCs after the Mulrooney years, and that is why it was so easy for the liberals to govern Canada for so long.

Now the tables have turned, the liberals have gotten so corrupt that they need to reform themselves before they deserve to be voted for. Lets not forget that every liberal that is sitting in parliment today was part of the 'old and corrupt' crew, and because they were able to win their seats, you can bet that they will run again in the next election. As far as I'm concerned, the liberals simply can't change their leader then claim that they have changed the party. Thats not good enough for me. They need to sit on the sidelines for awhile, until the core of their party is replaced by new politicians.

This leftist backed KYOTO/CO2 AGW agenda is counter productive for the left united or not.

The sentiment I detect on the street regards it as just a leftist swindle to make us unemployed vegans.

Yes I can and considering that support for both parties stands around 32% +/- 2% on any given week so should you.

Think about without the partisanship.

Of course for a better picture we should factor in support on a per province basis but thats more involved when the volatility of Quebec is factored in.

Whenever Toronto the Good turns into a shooting gallery, which has been most years, the blood spilled in the streets becomes a transfusion for the tired veins of gun control advocates. It also reinvigorates the ageing vampires of anti-Americanism, with a few drops left over to feed the scavengers who search for the "root causes" of crime.
Blaming everyone but the culprits -- violent youth gangs waging turf wars -- the promoters of failed social policies are demanding more of the same. They want more regulations for the law-abiding, more molly-coddling for the lawless and more America-bashing for everyone.

They use their examples just as the anti-liberalism goons point to any situation where perceived liberalsim goes wrong.

Its a contrast between urban and rural attitudes and their associated lifestyles.

Given that the bulk of Liberals support comes from urban centres it is entirely understandable why their ministers and platform reflect this.

Its why the CPC constantly champions pro-Xtian positions as the bulk of their support comes from that mindset.

The bulk of CPC support, certainly its foundational support comes from there. Thats not saying they are a religious party but their platform reflects those attitudes.

Yes, a complete ban on the possession of all firearms, coupled with draconian penalties. Such laws existed in most totalitarian countries, and they worked. There was almost no gunplay in the streets. In those societies, no one had to worry about his safety -- until he saw a policeman.

Yes I recall an evening in the Moscow metro----the train stopped and everyone was ordered out........

The militia(Police) could be seen rushing onto the platform.

Everyone disembarked......then the shout came "STOY".

Everyone dove for the floor, me too..... a burst of AK fire.......then the voices of the militia ordering "DAVI DAVI".........

Everyone had to leave and have their ID inspected.

Never did establish whether those sought by the Soviet authorities were criminal or political........
