Seems a little absurd, though, doesn't it? Stripping people of their Canadian citizenship in order to keep them in Canada?

sorry, don't know where you got that but it is complete BS

I have three citizenship and never had to relinquish any of them

I have one, which I cannot keep when I become a Canadian citizen.

I highly doubt it considering it is illegal. If you cared to shed more light on your situation it may help however, it is not the Canadian Governments policy to even ask potential citizens to relinquish other citizenships in order to become Canadian. I know I went threw this and so did my wife.

It is not the Canadian Government, I never said that. It is always the rules of your old country of Citizenship that says to give it up or not. Moroccan people are not allowed to give up their Nationality, even if they wanted to. As a Dutchy, you lose it, period. Holland does not accept dual Citizenship, which means you have to give up that one when you choose to become another, as an adult.

ahhh, I apologize, I thought you were referring to the Canadian government.

But, you are right, I think Germany is pretty xenophobic as well. I guess my only question is really, how would say Holland even find out? You could be living in Canada as a citizen and just keep your Dutch passport (or wherever) current. The Canadian government won't inform Holland! or are they so paranoid you can't even live outside the country for more than xx years without a note??

They know I am not living in Holland already

They have a system that makes you register at City Hall, tell where you live, tax-office can find you that way. When you move, you have to de-register yourself from your address, because someone else will register him/herself... If you don't, you still get to pay numerous things... We have a social security number, that stays with you for the rest of your life, so "they" are always able to find you  Big brother is watching ya! ;-)

Funny thing though, In Holland, you can only fill out your tax forms online. Now I lost my log in code during the move last year. Since I am not a resident anymore, I can't apply for another one. So now I can't pay my taxes ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL Good system eh? ROTFL ROTFL

Barbara Kay is more inspired by Holland (i.e. Pim Fortuyn and Theo Van Gogh) than by Canada.

Why Pim Fortuyn?

Do you have any idea about his ideas?

I find it kinda odd that you name them in the same sentence when it comes to multicult, while Pim Fortuyn was murdered by a left-left-left vegan animal freeer, and Theo van Gogh was murdered by an extreme muslim, about a movie he's made...

Kay wrote that both have paid the ultimate price for the mistake of multiculturalism.

Then she wrote bullshit. I don't think Theo van Gogh's movie Submission had anything to do with multiculturalism, but everything with his views of Islam. Multicult is a bit more than embracing or bashing Islam.

Pim Fortuyn was murdered because his political views didn't stroke with this friendly ferrett freeer. Had nothing to do with multicult.

The National Post is ideal paper tissue to wipe down bullshit.
