Yes but the Liberals didn't win, if somehow a party won with only seats in the city metro areas that would be a concern. plus they won other seats outside cities, just not huge geograhical areas. Do maritimers not count?

I think the real story is that the governening party failed to break into the 3 large city cores yet again.

The Liberals will be back and have seats across the board, lets Hope they all can make this last for at least 2 years though.

Maritimes do count, as do all Canadians.. even the 30,000 in the Yukon

the Maritimes used to be a gimme for the Libs, they have lost that.
Quebec will be a problem for a while i guess, the Bloc should never been
allowed to form.
the real fight used to be in Ontario, but the Libs have lost that too,
outside Toronto.

I think the real story is that the Libs are now a fringe party,
and need to do some serious rebuilding, on all levels, not just at the party
leader level. Dion should resign immediately.

The Liberals got 1.1 million more votes and 39 more seats that the NDP and this was the worst election ever for the Liberals. That being said... fringe is something that the greens don't even deserve let alone the official opposition. You overstate your case.

Uhh....no. No matter how you try and spin it, what it has really revealed is Canadians don't trust any political party....period. If this had been about Harper and the Conservatives, they would not have increased their numbers in parliament and there would have been a Liberal government. This is the Canadian people saying to ALL politicians, that we don't trust you, but we think the Conservatives will do the least amount of damage to us, based on their performance to date.
