Gets a pass or doesn't warrent a fanatical reaction? I'll go with the latter.

Right, I'm asking for a "fanatical" reaction? No. I'm asking for some courtesy. I'm a Catholic, I respect other faiths, even if I disagree with them on the basic fundamentals. People have the right to believe, or not to believe.

Do I want Catholics rioting and burning down TV studios and lynching actors, let alone this unfunny asshole? No. I don't ever want that, and I'm not calling for that. I'm calling for the same respect Judaism gets, as well as politically correct sack of shit that Islam gets.

You're seeing fanatics where there are none.

Respect, eh? Why bother hiding it for shit sakes?

It wasn't the pissing on the picture that pissed me off, it's the people who through their "political correctness" conciously give Larry David a pass by trying to paint everyone who found this offensive as hypocrits.

I've been called many a thing, but PC ain't one of them.

Forgive me for not losing my shit along with the rest of you because Jesus got peed on.

As far as being a hypocrite, well of course you are. You're the first one to skewer Muslims, be they moderate or fanatical, that react poorly to shit flinging at Mohomud. That makes your somewhat similar, though much more peacable in a non life taking/flag burning but simply bitching on internet reaction hy-po-crit-i-cal!

Wow, very touchy today. So you're telling me that the extreme political correctness that Islam receives with any issue compares to how Christianity is treated within the media?

I did not call Islam a sack of shit, I call its touchy political correctness bullshit.

Don't try to bait me. If you think Christianity is treated equally in the media to Islam and Judaism, say so. Just get it off your chest. And then we can start a discussion.

Typical trouble-making jew. Oh wait, I can't say that and denigrate his religion. That would be like pissing on Jesus.

During Sunday's episode, David, who created, wrote and produced "Seinfeld," visits a bathroom in his assistant's home and splatters urine on a picture of Jesus. Instead of wiping it off, David leaves the restroom. Minutes later, David's assistant enters the bathroom and concludes that Jesus is crying. She then summons her mother to the bathroom, where both women kneel in prayer.

Once you put in context of the scene, where he "accidently" pees on it. Its kind of funny. I'm sure no real Jesus pictures were harmed during filming.

Either way David I'm sure is thanking everyone for the publicity.

All religions suffer from touchy PC bullshit - some suffer from it much more than others.

Fanatical Muslims are lunatics when you pick on Mohamud, that's a fact. If the media goes out of its way not to bait them, then so be it. I think that's responsible. Jews suffer from that to a lesser degree, and Christians even more - liberal society and all and that whole freedom of expression. Muslims don't get it as they don't have that in their society.

Your chair arm thumping just proves you have a similar low key fanatical reaction when your religion is picked on. Don't like to hear it, then don't over react when some jackass pees on a picture of your saviour.

In the end, how does one stupid act affect your faith? Especially on a forum filled with athiests that love to bash all religions.

Fine, I'll agree that not all religions are treated the same.

Because it's disrespectful. But I'm my armchair thumping anything. I said it was disrespectful, and hypocritical at how the media would not be willing to treat all religions equally. Because Christians don't react in the same fanatical way many atheists label them (because they're all fundies who hate all other people, or whatever atheists like tossing out) the media has less respect for it.

There are tasteful ways to make fun of Christianity. This wasn't one of them, much like it wouldn't have been tasteful if he used a Qu'ran as toilet paper. This wasn't tasteful, nor funny, and I said so. Did I call for a boycott, or his death, or the show's cancellation? No. I just commented about how not all religions are treated equal. And you think I'm having a "fanatical reaction".

It doesn't. I didn't discuss how it affects my faith, I discussed about how media reacted and portrayed to various religions, and how unfair that treatment can be. That's it. You're the one who took that as some fanatical reaction.

This is just as likely to piss off Christians as well as Muslims, Jesus was a prophet for Islam.

That is why most Islamic countries did not show the Davinci Code

In case you hadn't noticed there's a big difference between "reaction" and "over reaction".

Yes I reacted to Larry David pissing on that picture but not for the reasons you seem to think. I reacted because he'll get a pass when others wouldn't and that's what fostered my indignation. As the matter of fact I've seen far to many derogatory cartoons of Jesus to over react, riot and kill people like certain other religions.

So if in your opinion, I'm a hypocrite for thinking people who "over react in the extreme" are wrong, then so be it, but at least have the integrity not to try and paint all people who react with a modicum of decorum to a percieved insult as hypocrites just because they take issue with the actions a group of religous thugs.

Well, we at least agree on the hyocritical part. Fair enough.

Are you a regular church goer, by the way?

WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization today called on HBO to apologize for an episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” in which the main character splattered urine on a painting of Jesus.

In a letter to HBO Chairman and CEO Bill Nelson, Nihad Awad, national executive director of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) wrote:

“It is beyond tasteless to insult the religious sensibilities of billions of people in America and around the world with such a cheap and vulgar publicity stunt. Jesus, peace be upon him, is loved and revered by both Christians and Muslims. Muslims view him as one of God’s greatest messengers to mankind.

“The Quran, Islam’s revealed text, states: ‘Behold! The angels said: “O Mary! God gives you glad tidings of a Word from Him. His name will be Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and in (the company of) those nearest to God.” (The Holy Quran, 3:45)

“The Prophet Muhammad said: ‘Both in this world and in the hereafter, I am the nearest of all people to Jesus, the son of Mary. The prophets are paternal brothers; their mothers are different, but their religion is one.’

“We understand the drive for ratings, but no one benefits from such a crude attempt to boost the network’s bottom line by manufacturing a religious controversy. HBO should apologize.”

Awad added that American Muslim television viewers contacted CAIR to express their concerns about the HBO episode.

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

Even the Muzzies are pissed off over this one.

In the end, is it really worth fighting over? A television show where some guy happens to splash some piss on a "symbol" of religion?

Get a friggin grip people.
