Taking no side here, but playing devil's advocate: wanna hear the one that goes, 'this isn't such a bad trade. In fact it might be a good one?'
Here's, tsn Edmonton, radio talk show guy,
Dustin Nielsen talking to Vancouver sports talk show guys. He's trying to sell the trade.
Call em' up and give em hell tomorrow boys.
Basically the 'good trade' pitch goes something like this:
Chiarelli wants to change the culture in the room. Maybe there was a conflict of personalities and Edmonton went into the off season planning to trade Hall. That's why he's was willing to settle on one for one.
Also the Edmonton defense is 'brutal'. Something had to be done. Even if Larsson does turn out to be nothing more than a # 4 defenceman he'll still be the best defenceman on the squad according to Neilsen.
The trade clears a little more cap space and more trades or acquisitions through free agency are coming. This will all make sense when the dust clears.Something like that anyway.
