BeaverFever BeaverFever:
Watched it and thought it was decent, good to see there are no more useless members in the group..but some things still baffle me, like why some still wear short sleves and tank-tops when going to fight zombies hand-to-hand, knowing full well that a bite or scratch will do them in. In season 1 and 2, I couldnt understand how they just walked past abandoned military vehicles and dead troops at CDC without picking up an arsenal of weapons and ammo. They seem better armed this season, with at least one semi-auto rifle in the groul so they must've gotten wise in the off-season.

Short sleeves and tank tops - exactly! That really bugs me! These things are walking bio hazards yet even covered with blood they hug and kiss.

Nitpicks on a great show but still...

Usually too hot and humid in Georgia for most of the year to be wearing anything heavier than a t-shirt and pants. As for the weapons and vehicles, odds are the military probably expended all their ammo before they fled/got eaten and used up all the fuel for the vehicles too. Be nice to be riding around in a tank crushing zombies but even with a full tank of fuel it isn't something that you could do for more than a couple of days before all the juice was gone, not with the way military equipment drinks up gasoline and diesel.

I think I might endure the heat to avoid the zombification issues.

Not me. I hate the thought of excessive sweating even more than the thought of being eaten. It literally can drive me borderline insane. That's why I like to live in Canada instead of a humidity drenched hellhole like the southern US. I'm one of the few who doesn't complain about winter up here because at least the cold keeps the perspiration levels significantly lower.

Only in aluminum or something lighter so I wouldn't just fall over.
I would also like to have Sandor as my sidekick. 8)

What I want to know is why when walking by all those "dead" bodies in the halls of the prison they did not smash in thier skulls just to be sure, and how come Hershel seems to be the only ones who hair has grown in the last nine months.

I think the special effects guys did a really good job this episode, and I'm also happy the show is sticking a little closer to the comic book.

What I want to know is what "T-Dog's" real name is. I'm guessing the T stands for "Token Black Guy" because -like most shows intended for a predominantly white audience- he is a sterotype character, complete with sterotype name, with no attempt by the writers to provide any depth or backstory. Hhe barely plays any role in the show at all except as an extra guy during the fight scenes. He barely gets any lines and is the only character without a female counterpart - Heck even Carl has a love interest!

Image

Not trying to be a PC rag, but it's a pet peave when shows follow tired old formulas and this is one of those things. That's why I stopped watching basic cable series and only watch AMC/Showtime/HBO type shows.

Did he really? They never really made it clear if they were a couple or just sticking together because they are both superfluous side-characters who exist for no other reason than to have black people in the show. Ah well, at least they didn't name her Shaniqua.

I love this show but I'm becomming more than a little pissed that it keeps using thinly veiled George A Romero story lines with their own little twists to make it appear to be original. I guess all the good Zombie story lines have been done?

To bad they couldn't have dug up Dennis Hopper to play the Gov.

His real name, in the original draft of the script was, "Token black character we have to put in the show to avoid charges of racism from Hollywood and other easily offended types who won't like this show anyway."

Seriously, Hollywood is so PC anymore that I'm surprised that Tom Cruise's movie "Valkyrie" didn't have Denzel Washington portraying Erwin Rommel.

And I am really enjoying the 3rd season! Just caught up on it last night - didn't realize that my DVR had been faithfully recording it for me until then!
