Can't vote this election, but if I could I'd vote for the CPC. They will do the least damage to my savings and investments.

Conservative. This will be the second federal election that I have voted for the Tories. Believe it or not, I used to vote Liberal a while back, and thought highly about some of their leaders. It all went bad just after AdScam happened, and the continued taxes added my McGuinty and Co. on the provincial level. Add to the fact that the Libs cared not about the Canadian Forces and gutted them, was more than enough for me to get fed up.

Harper's policies on economy, tax cuts, military spending, and tough-on-crime began to resonate with me. I worked on the campaign for my local MP, Peter Kent, the last election, and actually felt good about it. I'm not saying the Cons are saints by a longshot, there has been the odd questionable thing about them. I crossed the floor because I felt the Tories were a better fit for me. Working on Tory campaigns, I felt more of a sense of belonging to something much bigger than me, moreso than the several Liberal campaigns I was a part of. It all made sense.

Canadian politics has been a passion of mine since I became old enough to vote. Sometimes, I get a little emotional and excitied about this, and if I've offended anyone because of this, I'm sorry.

I’m going to hold my nose once again and vote for Jason Kenny. I’m personally not a big fan of the guy but the Liberals just have too many policies that will hit the oil and gas sector. When you combine the proposed cap and trade system, corp tax roll backs, their stance on the oil sands and in particular the West coast tanker moratorium it spells disaster for my industry particularly when you take into account that we’re just starting to get over the last round of provincial tinkering in the industry. This is the second campaign they’ve run that seems to target the oil and gas sector a bit harshly, if they could just back off on some of their proposals and show a little support for Alberta’s industries I might vote for them. I guess we’ll see during the next election.

NDP? Well they’re policies are just as bad if not worse for the oil and gas sector so there isn’t much of choice. Besides, I kind of liked a few of the social programs the Liberals had so I think they would have been my second choice long before the dippers.

As much as it makes me feel dirty inside, I'm voting for the Liberal candidate because the CPC candidate, Jim Hillyer, has avoided every public engagement and thinks he can coast on the coattails of Rick Casson. I could give less of a damn for the Liberal platform (which goes out of its way to screw and exploit the West) but I want to send this wanker a message.

The chances of the CPC winning in my riding is about the same as Gaddafi's troops taking Paris.

I'm a fiscal conservative, but social policies (aka "rightwing policies") stand against my beliefs. I'm progressive, pro same sex marriage, legalization for MJ, etc. If the CPC ever dialed down the rightwing clap trap they'd have my vote.

But alas, I'll vote for NDP and hoping for a Con minority held in check by an NDP opposition.

I think I'll be going NDP--first time ever. In my riding both the Liberal and Conservative candidates come from money--private schools, fancy jobs they walked right into out of school. I don't want to encourage the idea that only aristocrats can run for office.

Plus I think the NDP would make a far better official opposition than the Liberals, who are essetnially rudderless right now. I mean, c'mon, the Liberal "Family pack"--Canada isn't a McDonald restaurant.

I voted NDP this year for the first time ever. I wanted to vote for a Lib/NDP coalition in the most effective way I could. Also because I'm tired of having to convince the Liberal leader to change his mind on the issues that I care about, when there's a party that already has rational policy on social justice issues.

Zip, I agree. The NDP would make a better opposition than the tired, worn-out Libs.

NDP. I voted in a mail in ballot as I am out of Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River for all the polls. Had to turn up at Elections Canada with proof of my land address as I only have a P.O.Box.
Why. I am a socialist. I have almost always voted NDP except in the last election when I voted liberal in a failed bid for ABC. I was, in the not so recent past an active member of the Provincial NDP.
Results of this election will be interesting. I have not posted from the election call till now (except a few what are you listening to posts) as I had nothing to say that wasn't pure party hackery. Didn't think it would be useful in any way.

Like I said, interesting and look forward to seeing the results.

Before clicking on this link, be warned that the content is extremely partisan. Not that it's for any party, just that it's very anti-Harper/Conservatives.

It's a list of the Key Contests, those where the races are close, but I'not guaranteeing the validity of the numbers.

I post it because you may find some interesting information on the site.

I voted CPC because at this time it is a safe vote. I dont believe in the hidden agenda, I think the NDP is going to cost us too much money so people with a gr. 10 education can make the sunshine list too, the LPC is completely uninspiring and has its sight set solely on stealing from the rest to give to Quebec.

+1 [B-o] [B-o]

My own little addition. They'll take gobs of money from those who have worked hard and made sacrifices, and give it to those who won't/don't.

But that does bring down the crime rate. Dirtbag criminals don't need to go robbing folks up when the government pulls the robbery for them.
