I'm on the PC, and since I played Mass Effect 1 before 2, it took me a little bit to get used to everything...but once you're used to it, you'll enjoy it

I'd love to play Mass Effect 2, I bought a steam 4 pack but I simply have no spare time. :x

I played 1 and thought it was brilliant (barring the horribly mundane side quests).

Its a refresher from that beaten to death horse known as Dragons, Elves, castles and kings.

On a side note, a personal pet peeve of mine is for a PC gamer, if I can jack up the game on all settings, 16AA (nvidia drivers only), 1920*1080, and it still looks shoddy, there's I know something wrong with the state of PC gaming.

2 Years after Crysis was released, all 3d high budget games on the PC should look like Crysis or BETTER.

In 1998 when Unreal was released, it was as revolutionary as Crysis was in 2007, 2 years later we had Giants Citizen Kabuto and Quake 3 Arena! Now...we're going backwards. Thank you so much Xbox, thank you Playstation, for ruining PC graphics through cross platform conformity.

Try that out. It will allow you to tweak the Nvidia card to your specs. Be advised they have yet to come out with a template for Mass 2 yet as it is so new so stick to generic settings for stability.

Well...to anybody else who has reached the final boss...what did you think? I thought it was an interesting idea...yet the actual "boss" design was terrible.

Edit: Perfect summary of the end boss:

Lol. Couldn't agree more. I found the final boss pretty easy to beat, but on the whole, the game is a vast improvement of ME1. Now I can't wait for Mass Effect 3...

Oh well. Now I'll play through again as a bad guy to pass the time....

Does anybody read the various Cerberus News Network stories? They're hilarious, they have one about the Superbowl right now

Yepper. Not having played the first won't really leave you hanging, but it helps for back story etc.

Having finished the game, I gotta admit to a hollow feeling about the game. I wondered where it might have come from and it finally hit me.

It ain't an RPG. It's a really well done 3rd person shooter. Think a more immersive version of GoW. The level of character customization is no where near that I have come to expect from a RPG, especially an RPG from Bioware. You can make minor adjustments to the base armour and pick from a pretty decent weapon set. That's about the extent of the RPG elements. The original had almost too much you could do to the main character and the rest of the team. They went overboard, imho, in the other direction with 2.

Number and scope of side missions was a huge let down. Once again, Bioware has spoiled me in the past with KOTOR, ME 1 and Dragon Age.

BUT, like I said, as a 3rd person shooter, it really excels, with a well done combat system, good cover mechanics and for a 3rd ps, a pretty decent weapon selection.

I'd say it's an RPG in the same way Diablo is like an RPG. It has some of the right elements but definitely all of them.

I agree, it's a great shooter and unlike ME 1 where the only decent class was to solider, ALL the classes are unique and useful while still being a boatload of fun to play. Vanguard is the most intense with a charge attack that can get you in as much trouble as it can get you out of. Still, I love being the solider with the widow sniper and adrenaline rush double damage. Great for 1 headshot kills ala Max Payne.

Man, its a gamers paradise. I haven't bought Mass Effect 2 yet because I was waiting for Bioshock 2. I ended up purchasing Dragon Age: Origins despite wanting to wait for ME2. I still haven't bought Halo ODST yet and have been dying for the new Aliens Vs Predator game out a few days ago which I will probably buy this weekend.

Too many great games and not enough time. :(
