Gamespot Preview

Check out Stalin as he plays the game from start to finish:

The CGI is going to be epic in this one. Some estimates were as high as 100 million for production which were later retracted. It has been 12 years since the last one and the cut scenes in that one were amazing, this one will be a movie that will give avatar a run for their money.

Shouldn't have to.

I bet the real SC2 release parties are in South Korea and Russia.

I never really got into the first Starcraft. I'm not sure why really, I enjoyed other RTS like Command and Conquer (Rest in Peace, and fuck you EA for fucking up Tiberium Twilight) and I'm not sure if I should buy this yet or not.

Wings of Liberty Review

The Pros

* Campaign skirmishes correlate well with story
* Incredible mission variety
* Replayable single player

The Cons

* No Zerg or Protoss campaigns
* No disk spawning or LAN party support
* Forced to use Battle.net and RealID system

So then you have to be connected at all times to the net to play?
How about they and EA pay for my internet connection....BASTARDS!

Dream on, Blizzard are the same guys who own World of Warcraft. You know the one that you have to pay to play monthly? You had to pay for the game as well but they have since made it free and there is talk they will make it entirely free to level 10 so you can at least try the game before you buy. With games like Star wars the old republic coming out that will charge a fee I was amazed they didn't charge for battle.net access for this actually.

Blizzard has done a lot more then it's EverQuest Clone: World Of Warcraft.

Lets not forget games like Diablo, Diablo 2, WarCraft, WarCraft 2, WarCraft 3 and Starcraft.

Battlenet has always been free and accessible to those with a CD key and unlike many other companies they can actually host patches for all their games on their website.

They actually understand that you shouldn't release a game when it works but wait until it is actually fun to play.

They where an excellent company long before WOW and I'm surprised anyone thought that a mere 7 years of milking the admittedly staggering and culture changing accomplishment that is WOW would corrupt their pure gaming souls.

I'm not overly impressed with Steam. I bought Empire Total War but a short time ago my PC went schizo. I got everything fixed, went to reload the game and forgot my password. I knew my account name and tried to follow their directions for reactivating my account with a new password....it wouldn't reset. Tried a new account...product was registered to a current account. Not impressed.

Steams been good to me. I got napoleon myself. Love the ability to be forced to keep a CD. Now if the cd is lost/damaged it doesn't matter and if I move to a new PC I will get the most up to date version of the game. What I really like about steam however is the retro games they have re-released like X-com. Super cheap and STABLE. No need to download a dozen patches and hope it installs correctly.

Blizzards battle.net is trying to copy steam but it more like the apple store where you can only buy their products and services. It's a shame they can't cross platform and share IP in this regard to it is a one stop shop.

Btw shep if your going to try Empire, check out DarthMod

When I heard SC2 was being made way back I was hoping for something new. MMORPG SC would been nice. Nah... just the same game for the most part with better graphics.
