Update!
Yeah, I know, I know, shaddup already, but when I try to tell my wife she just rolls her eyes at me.
Started playing a new round of planets just over a year ago.
Playing as these guys:
I started to recce with one of these:
and ran across one of these:
which is owned by these guys.
So I of course attack and blew the snot out of it because it was poorly armed and I alway recce in force
Stupid Colonials.
Game on!
I then found a probe
which was owned by this gent:
After exchanging pleasantries we decided to ally, because hey, if one evil force is the universe is good then two are great!!
Which is fortunate because it turned out that the Colonies had allied with these weenies:
After some skimishes, a daring assault on the Colonial Homeworld with one of these bad boys:
assisted by one of my cloaking ships decimated the Colonies to the point that they had to take what few remaining battleships and frieghters they had left and run for Federation space. Wierd parallel there huh? I thought so anyway
The Federation made a decent attempt to hold us off, but without significant help from his ally, he wasn't able to do much.
Besides, these fellers:

were hitting him from the other side.
But lo and behold from my flank these frakkers
show up looking for a piece of me.
Simultaneously these sneaky bastards
start giving the Empire grief. Guess who is working together in that corner?
Unfortunately, my ally has little defense against the green skinned ladies so I have to put a large portion of my resources into protecting his ass.
At the same time I engage in several border skirmishes with the Borg and push them back managing to whack one of thier cube ships in the process. No easy feat if you don't mind me tooting my own horn.
Meanwhile the Gorn and Cylons took most of the Colonial and Federation territory while we were picking buckshot out of our asses. Oh well, c'est la vie.

were still kicking around in the stars somewhere but not on our radar.
My ally used his probes and his connection to the force while I used my cloaking ships to discover the Jedi were teamed up with the Tholians and the Romulans were standing alone but surprisingly strong.
At this point we are fighting against the Borg/Orion alliance and trying to take Rebel/Tholian territory since thier own encounter with the Borg/Orions
left them vulnerable and weak.
The Romulans will be next.
Boiling down to a three way between Klingon/Empire, Borg/Orion and Cylon/Gorn.
And thats how I wasted the last year of my life.
