As long as Justice is served, I don't really care to have 24/7 analysis of the Trial. The Courts and Jury decides the Guilt/Innocence, not Public Opinion.

More than the peoples right to know, it's the obligation of the Canadian citisen to be informed.
Reading comprehension is something you should look into.
I really don't see anything "wrong with Canada" as the OP asserts due to the Picton Trial Coverage or peoples attention to it. Why is this case any more important than the thousands of others that take place across the country every Month? Hell, the only reason we are even aware of it is due to the sensational crimes that have taken place.
If one wants to know what's happening at the Picton Trial they'll have a far easier time finding details on it than they will for the vast majority of Criminal Trials.
