kerfuffled kerfuffled: Avro Avro: First off, look in the lemon aid guide and JD power to discover the true pieces of crap. When domestic manufacturers make a decent vehicle I will be glad to buy one. Secondly, where do you suppose both the Jap vans are made? The Honda is made right here in Canada and the Sienna is made in the USA, know the facts before you comment. I do know the facts Avro so don't act so arrogant. They may build them here but the money goes back to Japan and they STILL enjoy an unfair trade advantage and that costs jobs in Canada. Thanks for supporting your fellow Canadians Avro!

Avro Avro: I have been dithering on this for some time and considering I will have two kids to get around come May I need to make a decision once and for all. I have narrowed my search down to two vans.....
The 2006 Toyota Sienna XLE 4WD
Or the 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring edition
Which one would you get.......????
I would go with the Odyssey myself... my wife and I actually own one and for a mini-van it's great! Ours is a 2005 and we test drove just about every van on the market... including the Sienna. It's VERY hard to beat Honda's reliability and reputation! I checked out Honda's website and I to did not see any kind of 4WD option for the Odyssey. Ours did very well last winter driving around in the Pennsylvania snow and it does have traction control standard. If you absolutely need 4WD then I would go with the Sienna... It was our second choice and is a very nice van itself.
However.... my little theory is if you know how drive in snow you don't need 4WD because it will just help you find a better place to get stuck!!! LOL

You have a point Lily I forgot about the car seat ritual. My kids are long gone from that stage. If your short like my gal it would be a chore for sure.

Avro Avro: $1: However.... my little theory is if you know how drive in snow you don't need 4WD because it will just help you find a better place to get stuck!!! LOL So true, a friend of mine up north has a tow truck company and you would not believe the amount of assholes he pulls out of ditches driving SUV's. They think somehow they can drive like it's a beautiful summers day in the middle of winter because they have it in 4WD.
Didn't you know? If you're an arrogant prick who buys a huge SUV or a Mercedes or a BMW you get a free pass from God Himself with regards to the laws of physics. That's right, no snowstorm, hurricane, or icy and treacherous road has any right to slow you down because, dammit, you've got an elitist SUV! And speed limits are for the peons, they don't apply to you! Those kids in the crosswalk? Screw 'em! You're late to your hair appointment and who's gonna miss a few rugrats anyways? Run 'em down! What the hell, you got the brush-bar kit with your Land Rover, right? The little kids'll just bounce right off.
Avro, I hate these pricks, too. Even though it's costing me more money with higher gas prices I'm laughing my ass off every time I see a Hummer at a gas station spending US$100-$200 to fill it up.

They may build them here but the money goes back to Japan and they STILL enjoy an unfair trade advantage and that costs jobs in Canada. Thanks for supporting your fellow Canadians Avro! Umm.....yeah, okay jackalope, like Streaker said, profits go back to the U.S. do they not? Also I know a guy that works in the Cambridge plant so buying my wifes Corrolla did nothing to help put money in a Canadians pocket eh dummy. Just because I want value for my dollar dosen't mean I don't support Canadian workers, if I were to be buying a mid size car I would definatley get a Buick because they are rated very high and are made right here in Oshawa, even though I think GM employees earn to much. Hey, if you want to buy a piece of crap that is up to you but don't tell me what to buy based on what the Union has told you. Check out the ratings on these vehicles and you will see why I have chosen them, the Mazda MPV is also has a good rating but I didn't even consider it becuase it is made in Japan so go blow yourself. Have a nice day.
You kiss your kids with that mouth? Jackalope, dummy, go blow yourself. So articulate. I don't need to check the ratings, I know the ratings. By the way what do you do for a living, just so I can decide if you earn too much? You are the kind of person who, when one first meets you, one doesn't like you. But when one gets to know you better, one hates you. Maybe you wouldn't be such a Jerk-In-The-Box if you had enough brains to find water after falling down a well; if your weren't so fat that the elephants throw you peanuts at your local Zoo, or if you didn't have a face so ugly that even your mother didn't know which end to put the diaper on. Who am I kidding? You would. You read like a gimpzoid teenager splashing spit onto the monitor. Don"t you ever have a point beyond giving your fingers some exercise by dancing them randomly over the keyboard? Why is it that the people with the smallest minds always have the biggest mouths?
Have a nice day.
PS: I wouldn't be caught DEAD in a mini-van

Daimler Chrysler is obviously foreign owned, but GM is not and Ford is family owned. Thats not my issue, the issue is the unfair trade advantage that the Japanese and Korean carmakers have against Big Three automakers. They have been eating up marketshare in North America for years and it costs jobs in the Canadian economy. Those jobs are very precious as they pour millions into our economy. The problem with the imports from the far east is that we are not allowed to sell or manufacture vehicles in their countries like they do here. There are no Big Three plants in Japan. Yes I do make my living in that industry so 'scuse me. And if you need 4wd and a navigational system you should probably just stay home anyway.

Imported cars are gennerally better then domestic cars. Just how it is, i would prefer to have a good car rather then provife money to economy that the government would just blow on something stupid anyways. IMHO any ways...

I love my old chevy Astro. We do alot of road trips - we're roadtrippin' fools! Been to Nova Scotia, Quebec City, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, New York City, Nashville, Maine, Daytona - we bin everywhere, man.
Rode in total comfort, too. Room for all kinds of crap and you can stretch out in the back. West coast next summer!
