Had a visit from a friend from up north. Brought smoked suckers. So having bibles tonight. Very good.
I have no idea what any of that is.
Probably just as well.

My kids are away for the weekend, so I'm thinking toast for dinner.
Or maybe chips if I don't feel like cooking.
Smoked suckers are just suckers

that are filleted and smoked. They are quite good. Smoking is the aboriginal method of fixing them, but suckers have been canned (called em prairie salmon) by white settlers in Saskatchewan for years. Probably in other places as well.

They are called bibles because people used to say the smoked fillets looked like a page from a book, and as the bible was the only book they had ever seen, bibles it was.
