but homosexuals refer to themselves as gays, fags, homos and queers. why should they even be considered rude? i've never heard two straight people call themselves breeders. you've lost your arguement, why are you now dragging all this extraneous crap in?

Blacks refer to themselves sometimes as niggers too, but that doesn't mean it's OK for a white person to call them nigger or ask them why they're black.

But many white people do use that word because black people are using it.

As much as I'd like to support you in this....in this instance you are making a mountain out of a mole hill. There is no indication from the video that the 2 men being taunted by the crowd were actually "Gay". And to tell you the truth....the taunt was pretty damn lame compared to what I grew up with. So...I will add my "get over it".

It doesn't make too much of a difference if the actual victims are gay or not. The perpetrators' message and intentions are the same.

Consider the fact that gay children not only grow up facing the typical schoolyard bullying you're mentioning, but they're also growing up with anti-gay ridicule in addition to that.

So it was 30-35 years ago, back in the day when all forms of bigotry were worse, especially racism. What's your point? That it used to be worse in the past therefore the lesser extremes of today are therefore nothing to be concerned about?

Sure I'm happy that things have gotten better, but the situation is still not perfect. I won't rest until bigotry of all forms are eradicated.
