Well look at me. when I invited Jesus Christ into my heart, and asked him to forgive me of my sins, And gave Him all of my life. Am I the same person? Yes. Same flesh and blood. Just inside of me, something changed. At first seems like nothing happened, But over time as I kept reading the Bible, It seems like I became a different person. I am more content, satisfied, peaceful, settled in my heart. Thats the only way I can explain it.

Of course religon is a con. Its another way to fuck a person out of slef being, self control, culture and these days cash!! Talk to anyone who is hardcore into religon and they cant think for themselves and they are probaly dishing out money to the church which in turn says its doing chairitable things with it. The church is a corporation and religion is a tool to get masses people in the door to support their cause.. Want proof just have a look at what the people who are holding key positions in church are driving and what their homes look like. How many litte boys asses have to be ripped open before people wake up!!

I agree that most religions seem to have strayed a long way from what God intended for us.
It all comes down to man's quest for power, I guess. The religions I have studied are full of man made tenets that have nothing to do with what the Bible tells us.
We can all study the scriptures for ourselves and have a personal relationship with God on our own.
Whether one is a Christian, aetheist, or of any other religion, anyone with common sense would have to agree that the rules for living a happy and successful life, as laid out in the New Testatment of the Bible make good sense.
You don't have to believe in God to take the wisdom of the Bible to heart.
These rules tell us what we should do and not do. They tell us what we can expect if we do not live by the rules. And then we are given free will to choose our own way.
The rules weren't made to spoil our fun; they were made to save us from the consequences of foolishness.
We are seeing today the consequences of breaking the rules. Divorce, crime, juvenile delinquency, disease are just some of the disasters on the rise in our society, most of which occur because people choose to do whatever they want rather than what they should do.
Certainly, morals have to be learned, but I still believe that we all have an inborn, latent sense of what is right or wrong. When children fight, bully, or otherwise misbehave it is often because those behaviors have been modelled for them by adults.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
If you eat undercooked pork and die, is it God's fault or punishment or is it just you not paying attention to some sound advice?

Same as with adultery, if you mess around and there's a price to be paid is it God's fault?

Nope, it's yours.
I was never talking about these natural consequences, I'm talking specifically about going to Hell, purgatory, or whatever it is that one might believe happens to 'sinners' when they die - direct punishment from God himself.

Let me ask you this - according to your own beliefs, what do you presume will happen to me, a reasonably moralistic, caring person, who refuses to believe in any God, much less follow any given religious practice? What's God going to say to me after I die?

"Well, son, this all must be quite the surprise to you, eh*?"

(God is a Canadian. IMHO He lives in Whistler.)

Have you heard the Rowan Atkinson sketch about welcoming people to hell? The devil is sorting people into groups and there are a couple lines on the subject:

"Atheists, over here please. You must be feeling a right bunch of charlies.

Christians, ah yes, I'm afraid the Jews were right."

The whole sketch. In text for those for whom YouTube is blocked.

"All organised religion is"... yeah yeah

Please include pernicious religions like Positive Atheism (commie style... think North Korea) and New-Age mishmash (modern politically correct belief slowly being imposed).

I hate it when "tradidional" religions are asked to take all the blame for the wrongs made by religion in general... ALL of them.

Biblical_Christian Biblical_Christian:
YOu can mock Born agains faith all you want. It's ok we are not going to chop your head off, Put a price on ur head. Or call you cursed like the Catholics do. Born again believers believe that God loves all people that he made. The goodness of the Lord will bring repentance it says. So the Borm again believer is only obligated to love and care for the people. Bible says God is married to the backslider. We can't hate people or wish death upon anyone. Maybe in the Old testament he was exterminating sin, now sin is everywhere. That means if it is resisted thru Jesus Christ. It will mean more. Instead of not having sin around and not making that choice. Even angels had choices. Lucifer which is called Satan now. he was an arch angel. He rebeled against God. He got booted out of his position. Just like in EDEN there was choices. Follow his Salvation plan or don't embrace it. God decided to make mankind with a freewill. He doesn't want man to be forced to follow him like what the muslims do. And people are free to not embrance the plan of God. But they must hear the message tho. So they can't say. " I never heard it if they don't make it. When everything is all said and done.
So, not going to chop heads off, but what about the fate of all those "Non-believers" out there. What happens to them?
