coaster_dot coaster_dot: I prefer AHL just because the Milwaukee Admirals are Wisconsin only pro hockey team and they kick ass West Division finals start tomorrow against Houston! I always wondered what would happen if Wisconsin got a NHL team. I think I mentioned this to you before, Coaster, but I know Nick Spaling and his family real well.

Wisconsin is very lucky to have such a great team. I have high hopes for the rest of playoffs....maybe even Calder Cup champions

My cousin played with the Kelowna Rockets for a couple of years, and was the captain during his last year with them. He went to the states to play in the ECHL for the Phoenix Roadrunners. http://phoenix.fanster.com/2009/01/23/m ... worcester/Definitely likes to fight. I miss watching him.

Yeah, to each their own, I guess. I prefer football, although nothing compares to basketball in my eyes.
Yes I know, not very Canadian of me. Meh.

I'm French Canadian but prefer football, go figure.
My younger years were in NS and I didn't get much of a chance to skate. I started playing football there and when I came back to Quebec, went to Bishop and played there too.
Preference in sports sometimes comes down to what you were exposed to when young and also what you know and understand the most.

Oh yeah I forgot about this thread. Last year I missed the chance but I am joining a recreation (just for fun) hockey team/club this season. I missed it last winter so I figured I would go for it this time around. Although I should probaly go out skating sometime soon. I haven't played in a long long time

I guess it depends on personal taste. I coach both football and hockey at the high school I teach at, so I like them both. I wasn't allowed to play football growing up (went by size, not age - let's say I was HEFTY as a child) so I played hockey, up to Junior A. I didn't play high school ball because my school didn't have a team. Now, I am immersed in it and I love it...outside for 3 months, getting to know a group of kids I wouldn't see in many classes and learning from a master coach who has been coaching for 30 years. In hockey, I am the head coach, so I don't have the mentor anymore, but when I started I did. I love watching CFL, not really NFL. I am not a Leafs fan, but being in Ontario, it is hard to watch anything else (unless TSN has another game on or it is Saturday night). So, I would say I like them both equally, but hockey has my heart because it is what I played as a kid...

CFL, then playoff hockey, then everything else.
Basketball, NFL and baseball are boring and pointless wastes of time 99% of the time. IMO

BeaverFever BeaverFever: Basketball, NFL and baseball are boring and pointless wastes of time 99% of the time. IMO In the same ways that history and astronomy are boring and pointless to those who don't understand them.
