| We certainly need to have an official residence for the PM and there are some arguments for starting again rather than restoring what we have. A new building could be designed from the bottom up with security in mind which is probably going to become a bigger issue. |

| It’s not as if the PM gets to keep it afterwards. The maintenance of such official buildings should be taken out of the hands of politicians so it can’t become a partisan matter. |

Scape Scape: Have Russia join NATO and have the Chinese occupy Ukraine. I think that will piss everyone off right?
If Russia was a normal post-communist country that respected its neighbours, joining NATO would be a prudent long-term goal given the lean and hungry looks China is giving Siberia. |
