So what exactly was Elon Musk hoping to achieve when he bought Twitter, again?

He handed over the equivalent of Scrooge McDuck's money bin for it, caused a bunch of internal chaos with his changes and then tanked its value...for what?

Was he that pissed off by the cancel culture campaigns and pile-ons that happened on it?

I mean, I can see being upset by those things, but not so much that I'd piss away the equivalent of a mid-sized country's entire annual budget to stamp them out...

Elon wanted twitter as a vanity project. It was his 'fuck you' money to show everyone just how much of a god he was among the rest of us peons. Everything else he said was window dressing.

Just because he owns most of the worlds wealth doesn't mean he is smart, it means he is an opportunist that was lucky but his feet are still made of clay and his ego is only exacerbated with wealth. Making him both out of touch, socially regressive and an egomaniac.

I admire him for his vision and ability to make that vision real by hiring the right people to get it done; but laugh at all the fumbles he makes when he enables the worst part of society, then telling advertisers to go fuck themselves when they don't want their products shown next to swastikas.

Just put a swastika on Starship, and see how fast your product gets abandoned by investors.
