That's bullshit. If that was pot plants or a meth lab instead of LEGAL firearms, he'd be out without a charge or a problem.

Perhaps you should think twice about violating another persons freedom to pursue personal choice if you want yours to be respected.

If he broke the law then he deserves to be punished even if the law is stupid right?

Maybe of LEGAL gun owners had monitary support from huge illegal and unregulated cash supplies, they'd be better off?

Maybe if they supported the rights of others their own would be respected.

Yup... because legal guns are EXACTLY the same as crack and meth.
You proved that in that really long thread that got deleted..

No, the freedom to choose is.

I don't see people killing other people with meth or crack.

I don't see innocent bystanders getting shot with crack.

Freedom. Look it up.

I dont think this has anything to do with freedom, those cops waited until 1 day after his FAC and PAL had expired and then pounced with 2 SWAT teams plus the RCMP, I think in this case it was a little much for a law abiding citizen.

Dont get me wrong he should have renewed his permits and really has no one to blame but himself.

The police cannot enforce unjust laws if the laws don't exist right?

Does this not strike anyone else here as total and utter bullcrap. I somehow doubt the police are going to dedicate two entire freaking SWAT teams and a few RCMP officers to the fact that one person forgot to renew his permits. This article reeks of lies.

I think the authors advice to include the media the next time something like this happens is probably a good suggestion.

Like it or not, the police will enforce the law as they see fit.
For example, if 2 couples are sitting on the beach, enjoying the sun, the cops are going to bust the couple with the bottle of wine way before they bust the couple with pot. Even Vancouver's draconian smoking laws won't matter because any addict or drug user has an army of activist lawyers and judges, just waiting in the wings.

Yes... the man should have burried his guns and claimed they were stolen, before the government stole them.

[stupid]

If the person has a prohibited firearms permit, it means he have it since like 40 years. And, this kind of permit, you have them for life.

So, bullshit.

No, they just kill themselves with it.
The innocent bystanders are just their friends and family watching their loved ones waste away.

what point are you trying to make? That drug use isn't as harmful as the ownership of guns? That there should be freedom to choose to do drugs if one wishes? Where does gun ownership come into this?

As for the guy who let his permits lapse, he should have been on top of it, but at the same time there should be a grace period for renewal or something. Unless I read the article wrong and he hadn't renewed the permits for some time.
