Zipperfish Zipperfish: Canadian_Mind Canadian_Mind: Zipperfish Zipperfish: Forget what? That the US spies on Canada? Was that news to you?
Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that's pretty much par for the course. Not only that, their contingency plans include invasion plans for Canada should it ever come to that. Why not hang that one on Obama too?
Just as we spy on them and also have invasion plans. It's just a part of the politics and military preparedness. You never know when times are going to change and your best friend is now your enemy. We've already sent in our forward force, right Agent Bieber. You lost me Zip.

BartSimpson BartSimpson: PublicAnimalNo9 PublicAnimalNo9: Name a US administration that didn't have Canada spied upon in the last 60 years and I'll give you a cookie. Hard to do that without the classified proof to say it didn't happen. May as well say that you want proof that the US didn't have anything to do with the Canadiens losing the 1955 Stanley Cup. Well, I'm willing to give Carter the benefit of the doubt, although t'would be no shock to learn otherwise

martin14 martin14: Gunnair Gunnair: Maybe Canada should wake up to the fact that no American administration is our friend. hmm, maybe we can try that some Administrations are friendlier than others ? I dont know that Palin would be much better for us, but I knew from the beginning that Oboomba would not be to our benefit. Friendly to Canada the same way the last Bush Admin (softwood, beef industry) was? My only issue is that Obama Admin is being singled-out, as usual ad nauseum, for doing something that every other White House has probably done in Canada since Confederation. And from what I've noticed thus far Obama hasn't allowed any significant sector of the Canadian economy to get bent over a table in order to placate US protectionists in Congress. It was Obama who agreed that Canada should have been exempted from the worst of the sanctions of that "AmericaFirst" nonsense that Congress put into the stimulus packages back in 2008 and 2009. With the exceptions of Reagan and Clinton what other US presidents before have ever even considered Canadian interests as even being remotely important? Dumbya sure as fuck didn't.

Zipperfish Zipperfish: PENATRATOR PENATRATOR: I have to echo Bart's comment on the first page, in 2008, the love for this guy Obama from Canadian lefties on here was gag inducing to put it mildly. How soon many forget. Forget what? That the US spies on Canada? Was that news to you? Well, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that's pretty much par for the course. Not only that, their contingency plans include invasion plans for Canada should it ever come to that. Why not hang that one on Obama too? The Americans are paranoid. It's the cost of empire. Obama is turning out to be pretty weak, but at least he's dropped the civilian body count quite a bit. Uhhm no actually. Forget the fucking love fest for Obama on this site 2 years ago. I never mentioned anything about spying in my post
