A local car dealer, not missed by many, was said to have a rule; friends pay extra. That seems to be Trump’s way too.

Thanos Thanos:
DrCaleb DrCaleb:
We've known from the beginning that they were not bargaining in good faith.

So does everyone else. And it will haunt them for decades to come.

That will be Trumps' legacy.

His fans are still going to be going "haw-haw! brilliant!", even as they end up losing their own jobs in the US due to his batshit malice.

The real fools in all of this though are Canadians, like me, who made the mistake of thinking the Americans were ever genuine friends. My bad, won't happen again though. :|

Don't blame them for Trump. Some of them, sure. Not all.

And Trump is not the deciderer. Congress is.

With the number of US States that depend on trade with us, how many of the Red States do you think are likely to slit their own economic wrist to show partisan support for Trump? With the Senate at 49 - 51, all it takes is 3 of them to not support the new deal, and it dies.

I think they're overstating the impact of Canada on the US economy and then assuming that any trade issues will cause a 100% job loss for those ~2m people connected to the Canadian economy.

No one is proposing a total end to trade.

Yup.

I'm hoping he gets us out of the UN, too.

Thanos Thanos:
Well, so much for all that:

I think it's pretty obvious Trump would love to have the auto jobs back in Michigan
and Ohio, because they voted for him.

Doesn't care about dairy, softwood, or the dispute mechanisms.

Politicians are resilient. With NAFTA and the pipeline news, JT isn’t having the easiest of days but he still managed to sound upbeat at the news conference.

His state of delusion really is that total.
He hasn't got a clue about what he is doing to the country.

Americans have been fed a steady diet for years from US politicians about
how bad NAFTA is.

Now you're going to ask them to stop the Mexico deal because muh Canada ?

Sure, and the Electoral College was going to stop Trump as well.

I really wish people would stop taking the stuff he says so seriously.

Hyperbole, reading between the lines. Try it sometime.

The real fools in all of this though are Canadians,

One in particular, who got real busy kissing Obama's ass,
hustling to line up to kiss lardarse Hildebeast's butt,
insulting Trump, and then showing up to negotiations
waving the SJWLGBTP:KJLFN:DSKJFHDS:KHF flag.

Someone who makes 4 posts in a row belittling the negotiators efforts and the interests of their own country.
No shame whatsoever.

Sticks the knife in Canada's back as soon as they can in order to suck off their Dear Leader again, yet they'll be the first ones here posting poppy avatars on Remembrance Day being all pseudo-patriotic. Couldn't give a damn what happens to Canada or Canadians at the hand of Trump as long as their hero "owns the libs", haw-haw Pepe Kek MAGA. Has to make a normal person wonder how many sadists and sociopaths are out there posting on the internet at any given moment.

American politicians aren't as dumb as they seem. Trump can yell and insult and make threats, but only congress can rescind NAFTA, and that takes six months. The chance of even the present congress doing that in favor of a two party deal with just Mexico is slim and none, and there are likely to be a lot more Democrats in the next one.

WHAT?

He's the President of the United States. Everything he says should be taken seriously.

I wish he would behave with an ounce of professionalism that the office deserves.

What you're saying is that we should ignore some of the things he says because he's not bright enough to control himself and talks out his ass. We have to decipher the true meaning of his words.
