the world has lost another true leader. this man knew his stuff and hung in to the last breath. Few men have reached his level of Christain beleifs. I'm not RC and I also disagreed with several beleifs he insisted upon but perhaps thats why I'm not RC. He is with the Lord at this hour
AMEN

Hopefully the next Pope won't wade into the middle of the AIDS pandemic and tell people not to use condoms.

The man did lead a long, full life. Very few people manage to do as much good as he did.

He was an impressive guy and seemed to have a lot of personal integrity, which is always to be respected...

...but...

...he was so reactionary about birth control, abortion, women's role in the Church, gay marriage etc...

I can't help but wonder if he did more harm than good... :?

Scape Scape:
The next pope will most likely come from a third world country...certainly not America.
-Mario- -Mario-:
Not be able to retire.
Popes can retire, it's just been hundreds of years since it's happened.

I may disagree with many of his ideas.(Condoms, abortion, equal rights for women). But I have alot of respect for him despite my dislike for His church.
I believe He truely was a good man that cared deeply about helping those in need.
