$1:
The self-inflicted wound crippling the black community spread on the Internet this week like a popular joke. There was New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie on the HBO show Hard Knocks, using his fingers to count his children and appearing to struggle with their names and birth dates. Eight kids by six women in five states. Cromartie just turned 26 -- a damaging stereotype come to life, allowing America to mock black men and black athletes. The Jets reportedly had to front Cromartie $500,000 before he played a down for them, just to cover all the paternity suits.......

anyone ever hear of using a condom or is this a form of entrapment? 'My baby daddy be rich, so I be rich now too!'

Blacks who come from slave states (Jamaicans, Americans etc) seem to be more promiscuous than Africans.

Being property for 5 generations and being unable to marry or own property was destructive to the psyche.

During slavery blacks were simply having children like cattle, no marriage.

So, in that department, not much has changed.

But hey, life goes on.

There hasn't been slavery in the States for almost 150 years.

Doesn't matter. There's no time limit on how long an "oppressed" minority can continue to blame all their problems on their oppressors.

Unless of course you're of European ancestry.

That's because Europeans are "oppressors". Everywhere, always.

It works for us to. My issues with alcohol are directly related to the British Bombardment of Copenhagen in 1807. I've already sent numerous letters to the Queen demanding a personal apology to make everything better. Haven't heard back yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time...

Oppressing each other was our biggest joy....doing it to minorities was only a side line during those sporatic periods of boring peace.

Technically it's how slavery stripped them of their original culture and how a hundred years of oppression pushed them together and they've partially rejected American Mainstream culture and started to form a weird bastard culture out of American Prison, American Poor and American Drug culture's.

Thats why becoming a successful person who isn't an entertainer is selling out to the man.

American sports culture invariably produces as many monsters as it does so-called 'heroes'. You could probably fill out an NFL or NBA All-Star team just with the number of big names involved in off-season drug arrests, assaults, or nightclub shootings. Keep raising these kids to think that they can get away with anything the want, no matter how criminal or awful it is, just because they can play a sport at a high level and it shouldn't be any surprise that they're producing a new crop every year of borderline sociopaths.

Lest hockey fans get too high and mighty, we've had our own share of lunatics and lost souls in our favourite sport too. Spinner Spencer. Pelle Lindburgh. John Kordic. Bob Probert. Steve Chiasson. Rob Ramage. Dany Heatley killing an Atlanta teamate in a drunk driving incident. Ex-Oiler Jason Smith looks like he's got some major drug addict/wife beating problems given what's happened with him the last couple of weeks. Given the runaway-train personal behaviour he's shown over the past couple of years, I fully expect Patrick Kane to either end up on a slab in the morgue himself or end up being responsible for someone else ending up there. Our guys might not sin in a particularly spectacular public fashion the way that NFL and NBA stars do, but the identical selfish idiot behaviour is just lurking below the surface with some of them too.

National Felon League is what it seems to be nowadays and and the NBA should just be called GBWHA - Gang Bangers With a Hobby Association.

While race may seem to be a mitigating factor in the equation, the real problem is a sense of entitlement.

These atheletes have been primped and pampered since they were playing Peewee sports so to expect them actually think that they're actions are going to lead to some form of punishment goes against their entire upbringing.

So good luck. Unless you build your team from the Graduating class of Notre Dame or other universities that actually have recruiting standards and graduation requirements for athletes, your team may win, but at some point, one of the large portion of athletically gifted sociopaths is gonna fuck up and make front page news.
