Thanos Thanos:
Who the current system really works for, basically.....

I dunno about that. I'm Gen X, and I find myself more in line with the Boomers than anyone from younger generations. I look at said younger generations and see too much arrogance, entitlement, and lack of real world education and knowledge of how things really work.

They also don't seem to have any respect for the generations that came before them and paved they way for them and how easy they have it nowadays. Everything is taken for granted, and hard work seems to be something foreign to them. Gen Y (Millenials) are the uber-entitled, while Gen Z is the cell phone generation that can't seem to do anything without one.

Generation X is the last great generation, hands down. The future doesn't look very bright
at this point.

No it does not. The resistance to change by the boomers and some of the older gen-xers has fucked us. However, all they are doing is delaying the inevitable. People are tired of seeing the ultra rich flaunting their wealth and status. Their brazen attitude is setting the stage for another French or October revolution.

Is this what I want? no. Is this going to happen? probably.

Yes, we aren't communists who take cake from those who have rightfully earned it on the backs of the proles, and give it to the proles.

I see absolutely nothing the Boomers have done that should earn them any respect at all from those following them. :|

Maybe I'd respect the boomers if they'd understand that they had it easy. Houses were 30000 when they were buying them in the 60's and 70's, now they are 300000 and rising. They could afford a house, and a car while making 30,000 a year. Today, lol.

That is the biggest problem, they don't understand/care that we can't afford to do what they did, we can't live as well as they could. Why do you think depression is so high amongst the late Gen-xers, millenials, and zoomers is so high? Because the baby boomers and the early Gen-Xers fucked us.

So, NO; I will not respect those entitled pricks.

Actually, my first house cost me 14 000$. Don't forget though, that inflation was high back then. My mortgage rate was 12% the first year and eventually went up to 18% 2 years later.

Boomers lowered the voting age to 18 in the states. Boomers ended the draft in the states. Boomers ended segregation in the states. Boomers on the Supreme Court ended laws against same sex marriage. Boomers won the cold war. Bomers brought down the Berlin Wall. Since the boomers started running things the U.S. has had less military deaths in ALL military engagements after the Vietnam war combined than we lost in a single battle in WW2. Same thing in Canada. Canadians lost more men in ONE battle in WW1, WW2, or the entire Korean war, than you have lost in all military conflicts combined since the boomers started running the show. I think the words that you are looking for are: "THANK YOU BOOMERS!!!"

What the fuck has your generation done? Oh thats right you got Kurt Cobain to stick a shotgun in his mouth and pull the trigger. Thats pretty much the high point of your accomplishments. That and the Tide pod challenge. Great job!

True. But taxes were also a fraction of what they are today. Yesterday's take-home income from the 1960-1980's period was far better for working-class families than it is now. And, maybe as an even bigger benefit, utility costs and grocery prices were infinitesimally small compared to today. So not only was the percentage of take-home pay much better but even those with blue-collar jobs could stretch what they made that much farther for necessities.

It's pointless pitting generation against generation. The baby boomers, by dint of sheer demographic weight, molded society to suit their needs, from the family 50s, to the exploration of the 60s, to the hedonism of the 70s, the accumulation of the 80s and now the overwhelming fear of the new millennium. It could not have been any other way.

The real enemy, to my mind, is this divorce from reality. There's the anti-science Taliban right, and the left seem to be under the impression that were it not for white people everybody would be sitting around singing Kumbayah, and somehow think it would be a great idea to get rid of cops. Reality ceases to set in. Unvaccinated idiots are dying in droves, and the urban crime is through the roof, yet they can't seem to reconcile that.

Sometimes I wonder if social media, this Azathoth noise of a billion idiots howling their Jabberwocky on Twitter, FB etc, is just driving everyone mad.

This is the internet, fella. Common sense isn't wanted here. Begone, infidel!

PS: there's a very good probability that the music that kept Azathoth quelled came to an end the same day Facebook was launched. 8O

I'm a boomer once a week when spending a day shooting skeet and trap.

If anyone does not like boomers, buy some ear protectors. [B-o]
