Saskatoon, 18 Jan. 2016, 7:00 AM -- -21 C. Must be global warming. Or the dreaded "Tropical Vortex!"

It's a great temperature to be working outside on a pipeline. Or at least it was before Canadians decided that pipelines were too yucky and upsetting to build anymore.

It is. But we are kind of proud to be able to withstand it. When you go outside and it actually hurts you when the wind blows, it takes some effort to stay outside and bear it.

And then there are those of us who ignore the temperature completely, cut a hole in lake ice and jump in. 8O

Watched Cool Runnings on the weekend. I still think the scene where Candy casually strolls out of the airport, jacket wide open is hilarious(mostly because it's accurate)......and that was only -25°C with light snow and a gentle breeze.

Thought I was going to have to cook the turkey last Wednesday when it got up to -1C. But that was just for the day, seems like a typical winter with no El Nino.

'Zactly! None of the -30s and -40s, for a couple years now! We used to get them for a week at a time, overnights of -40 and daily highs of -30. But things have been changing!
