Disgusting - I could careless if you are gay, straight or whatever else is out there today. But there is no need to celebrate another persons lifestyle. Is this not discrimination against straight people?

Also who is paying for these flags? I would rather see the money going to more teachers, more supplies, better infrastructure, more computers.......

So wasteful............

“When you’re in elementary school, and you’re just coming into adolescence, it’s a very vulnerable time,” said Greater Essex County District School Board vice-chairman Julia Burgess, who introduced the motion. “You may not have a lot of peers like you. The Pride flag tells them we have their back.”

That's not disgusting.

So basically, "Let's make an already intricate time in a child's life even more complicated by telling them what they should do by way of careful indoctrination."

Absolutely absurd as well as disgusting. Is this what we've become?

Putting up a flag celebrating heterosexuals would not go down well. Double standard.

Heterosexuals aren't picked on in school for being heterosexuals.

The three of you have kind of proven the need for this. You're even grown ups and should know better. Imagine the crap the kids pull.

This isn't telling gay students they're equal. It's telling them and everybody else they're special. They're special and you're not. So...wanna be special?

Okay, I'll make it real simple, even for you:

The only flag that should EVER be flying at a school is a Canadian flag, and to a lesser extent, a provincial flag.

As Canadians, we are supposed to all be equal. How can this be achieved if we keep granting special interest groups privileges like this?

Furthermore, Let kids be kids.

Maybe.

More than likely this though: Homophobic? Maybe You’re Gay

Quote:
WHY are political and religious figures who campaign against gay rights so often implicated in sexual encounters with same-sex partners?

In recent years, Ted Haggard, an evangelical leader who preached that homosexuality was a sin, resigned after a scandal involving a former male prostitute; Larry Craig, a United States senator who opposed including sexual orientation in hate-crime legislation, was arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct in a men’s bathroom; and Glenn Murphy Jr., a leader of the Young Republican National Convention and an opponent of same-sex marriage, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge after being accused of sexually assaulting another man.

One theory is that homosexual urges, when repressed out of shame or fear, can be expressed as homophobia. Freud famously called this process a “reaction formation”

A lot easier for straight kids to be kids than it is for gay kids to be kids.

Kind of the point of flying this flag once a year during pride week.
