I'm not part of any marginalized groups (other than the communist thing)
... not marginalized ... just a hopeless crusade. You're still young and are allowed to tilt at a few windmills.

The main influence on girls and women are other women. It's competition, wanting a decent social ranking, that makes women do the things they do. So it's really up to women to make this change. Just say no.

I'm all for helping people who've made bad choices and want to change, but I won't force others to change to accommodate them. AA works on helping the individual, I don't think they're lobbying to outlaw booze or even stop advertising.

I don't know about that. In the fashion world, anyway, fashion design is spearheaded by men who really don't like women and want their models to look like boys.

I don't now about the fashion world, but those men aren't holding guns to women's heads to wear their crap. Women wear it, not because some guy tells them to, but because they want to be au courant and compete with other women. Both genders compete with each other to raise their breeding status. Nobody cares about how men do it, since it mostly hurts themselves (risk taking) or other men (aggression). Women, being much more valuable in reproduction, we worry more about how they harm themselves in competing.

Not sure what problem you are referring to, but the main influence on these girls are their mothers and peer group. I'm not really sure what you want men to do about a problem that is inherent to females. I would say it's time adult women started talking to each other, and instead of blaming men, which is know it lots of fun, take a look how they are transmitting this particular meme. Of course if women are helpless victims, we can't really expect that of them, so I guess it's up to the guys to step up, force them not to compete with each other. You got any ideas how to do that?

Public_Domain Public_Domain: raydan raydan: Public_Domain Public_Domain: We aren't in the business of rewiring minds yet, so maybe we can pull back and consider a far less difficult task like simply having Coca Cola advirtise Coca Cola. Like we're going to get rid of all "women's impossibly idealic standards" and "men's sex drive"... good luck with that. I can't stop laughing at all these non-reasons for why Coca Cola can't advirtise Coke without tits. SEX SELLS. Always has. Always will. An ad with any sexual, or perceived sexual connotation grabs attention. That is EXACTLY what advertisers aim for. THEN they get to the real point of the ad. You nor a bunch of butches are ever going to change that. Get over it!

the thing is, I very much doubt this ad is aimed at men: "buy this milk and get laid.' I think it's aimed at women: "buy this milk, be healthy and sexy, and snag a high status male."

There you go. The Ad Wizards have accomplished exactly what they set out to do! They have the populace talking about their product. Coke-milk-coke-women-coke men-coke-women-coke-naked women-... The milk & the women were just the 'bait'.

When I saw this earlier I was distracted by the cool looking milk dresses. I am sorry about my inappropriate remark.
