Tricks Tricks: novachick novachick: Tricks Tricks: lily lily: Tricks Tricks: Saying a guy is girly is just as insulting as calling a girl manly. This has nothing to do with sex, but leave it to a feminist to make it so. I call bullshit on that one. Oh? Do tell. Nova, if I called you manly, would you be insulted? I'd kick your ass that insulted enough for you Note to self...
Guess you done been told

Maybe I can add to that?
Yes I will be very insulted if anyone would call me manly. Unless that one was blind Just as it would insult my hubby if he was called femine.
Now I can't see how anyone would be able to make that mistake when it comes to us though

lily lily: $1: Ummm no Tricks doesn't need me to back him up. He can do that just fine without me.
And yet he asked. $1: Lily, you're telling me that if someone called you manly, a dyke, or took you for a guy by accident, you would not be insulted?
Are you telling me you'd be insulted if someone took you for a girl... by accident or on purpose? Why would that be? Dodge, answer the question.
And that's because I'm not a girl. I'm a guy.

I didn't dodge the question... I chose not to answer because it's irrelevant. In other words... your asking it was a dodge. Females cops aren't being "humiliated" by being made to wear symbols of masculinity. Male cops are being called "girly" as punishment. If this has nothing to do with sex, then why would they feel insulted? If this were truly just about being mistaken for somthing you're not, then how would you feel if someone mistook you for a different race/nationality?
Ohhh my god Lily they are wearing hello kitty!!!!! Some one tried to strap a naked chick on my arm, I'd tell them to get a grip on themselves.

In the article it doesn't say male cops are being forced to wear it, but "cops".
Why would only male cops be humiliated? I would feel humiliated too, if I had to wear it, because I don't like the childish Hello Kitty thingies. I could avoid to have to wear them by obeying the law, like they are supposed to.

Good point Brenda! When I think of it if I was a cop wearing hello kitty I'd feel like an ass, I'd feel like an ass wearing hello kitty period!

lily lily: I didn't dodge the question... I chose not to answer because it's irrelevant. In other words... your asking it was a dodge. Of course it's irrelevant, because this has nothing to do with sex. Thank you for proving that. $1: Females cops aren't being "humiliated" by being made to wear symbols of masculinity. Male cops are being called "girly" as punishment. Where does it say that? $1: If this has nothing to do with sex, then why would they feel insulted? Because it makes fun of them. It makes them look foolish. $1: If this were truly just about being mistaken for somthing you're not, then how would you feel if someone mistook you for a different race/nationality? Depends. If someone took me for an American, I wouldn't mind, because we aren't all that different, but if someone mistook be for...say.... Japanese, well then I'd be a little PO'd

lily lily: Why does it make them look foolish, Tricks? Because it's hello Kitty! It would be the same if it were Pokemon, or Power Rangers. Something stupid. $1: What's wrong with being mistaken for...say... Japanese? I have been, and it didn't bother me a bit. Because I don't look Japanese. I'd be more worried for their eye sight.
This entire thing has nothing to do with sex, but it seems it automatically was made out to be. You tried to turn this into a feminist issue. That's the core problem with feminists. Saying something is sexist when it isn't.

It is not about sex, it is about humiliation.

But it isn't Pokemon or Power Rangers... it's Hello Kitty. Point? It's still something stupid and childish. What are you getting at? Spit it out. $1: But why would it piss you off? I'm pretty sure I just told you. $1: It's completely about sex, Tricks. You can claim to be insulted if you were mistaken for a Japanese, but them's hollow words. It's not in the same league as being called a girl, and you know it. No, it isn't. What's your point? $1: I'd appreciate a little honesty from one of you guys if you could explain why it's so insulting to be compared to a girl... and maybe then you might begin to understand why it's so insulting to us. Why is it insulting to be compared to a guy?

What male would want to be compared to a girl? Also if I was a woman I wouldn't want to be compared to a man. I'd imagine some girls would be insulted being called a tom boy, and some wouldn't. I certainly wouldn't want to be compared to a woman.
