While I admire his courage the clothing is suppose to act as a lawyer of protection against flying debris. I'm sure his platoon would prefer he take 30 seconds to get dressed properly and be good to go as opposed to being exposed and being a potential casualty from something which could have been prevented if he was properly dressed.

Its just plain stupid, please. What a moron. He is not only putting himself in danger, but his platoon too. There is a reason they dress the way they do. I think if the guys had a choice, they would love to be dressed NOT so warm in the middle of the desert. You know what? They don't. Holy christ.

It'll be interesting to see what our army brethren think.

Thirty seconds can be a long time in combat. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Real men wear pink

Directly into fight mode, personal safety is not a forethought. 30 seconds can be a lifetime or a life.

I'm guessing that since it's coming out as good publicity, he may only get a private tongue-lashing.

1. Pink is NOT the new white, I don't care how many guys I see wering pink, it's a girls color.
2. The Taliban couldn't see his pink shorts or his flip flops due to the sandbags blocking their view, so the phsycological warfare argument is moot

Not sure what your getting at here, he had his armor on, the pants issued to the GI's won't protect them from anything.

In relation to the Breast Cancer campaign, I'll agree with you.
In relation to everyday wear see my above post.

Well when you see is position, it was not like he was on the battlefield.
But he also had a red shirt...

I've read the story that it was his mother or his sister that bought him that for a joke with the guys in the army. He's only 19.

I had a chuckle. When the order, "Stand To!" is given you don't fuck around. You can grab your pants later, good on him!

I can imagine how horrible and uncomfortable they must feel.
