But there's another reason it was easy for some to assume that since Mark Hughes was identified as a suspect because he was carrying a firearm: the underlying subtle racism of those in the anti-gun movement.

Bam.

Right now we are seeing examples of the best and worst humanity has to offer. Police officers targeted solely on the colour if their skin, protestor and police protecting each other from the shooter(s) and knuckle walkers cheering the murder of the officers while other knuckle walkers call for RAHOWA.

Is the great melting pot experiment finally over? Differences between racial, religious, economic and political groups are becoming even more pronounced, rather than less.

If a society is going to prize diversity and multiculturalism over unity and cultural harmony then this is the predictable result.

In what might be a first; I read that the Dallas police took a bomb disposal robot, put a bomb on it and remotely delivered and detonated it to kill the shooter. 8O

Yeah, ain't that interesting.

Had to read it twice to believe it.

Damn, that's normally done by terrorists.

Very not nice development.

Next up, they don't send the police, they just drone your ass.

I also read it was a common tactic in Afghanistan and Iraq to take a robot and tape a claymore to the front and drive it into enemy positions. Not unprecedented, but a first for civilian law enforcement. A good tactic to prevent further casualties.

It's also a 'perk' awarded in "Call of Duty" - a C4 laden remote controlled car you can drive anywhere and remote detonate. Life imitates art. 8O

In Texas walking down a public street with an AR-15 is 100% legal

Legal, yes. Common? No.

You need to get out more. Open carry of long guns has been legal in Texas since 1871. Open carry of handguns has been legal in Texas (without a permit) since January.

Both are very common in Texas.

So people commonly attend peaceful protests with AR-15's on them?

You must be proud.

And you wonder why there are more cops than ever. Why there's more surveillance than ever. Why there's militarization of police forces. And why they're so quick to shoot.

"Yay!" gun rights. They're really preserving your freedoms.

That "fruit of the poisonous tree" phrase in law is apt as a descriptor for BLM. They began out of a riot in support of Mike Brown, a "gentle giant" who was anything but when he tried to strangle a shop keeper one-third his size after he'd just stolen cigars from the guy. All of which was forgotten when he then got gunned down by a cop he chose to attack with some ill-conceived charge-like-a-bull tactic. If that's what BLM is all about, fighting for the lives of idiots that act like thugs and morons in every waking moment of their day, then that's all anyone needs to know about BLM.

Here's somebody agreeing on the 'wait for the facts' advisement. This one concerns the Alton Sterling case which is half blamed as cause and excuse by the agenda driven for Dallas.

The Dallas idiot should have listened.

I believe something like the below is fair comment. It uses known facts to draw a conclusion. Whether one agrees with the conclusion 'Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization' or not is beside the point. It's a proposal as cause and excuse based on known facts.

Gun rights ARE preserving our freedoms. Every state in the US that has Constitutional carry laws has lower violent crime rates than every state in the US that prohibits Constitutional carry.

Vermont, with the lowest crime rates in the USA has never restricted the right of law abiding people to carry firearms openly or concealed and guess what?

Vermont has no mass shootings.

Vermont has no systemic problems with police abuse.

Vermont police don't kill anyone merely because they have a gun.

Vermonters are far more free than people in New York City who rightfully fear the NYPD and they sure as shit are a whole lot more free than black people in Washington DC.
