mtbr mtbr: ahh poor ole teachers don't like to be criticized . teachers work 7 to 7 ,7 days a week, and house wives clean the house all day. time to ditch the old school teacher myths. Unless of course, they are not myths. So far we have teachers, retired teachers and teachers spouses who all claim that the long hours are what the reality of teaching is. What "facts", not dug out of your hind end, do you have to prove that teachers are "part time", and "overpaid." Perhaps we should look at lazy assed oil company employees who are overpaid, underworked and forcing up the cost of my gas and diesel!

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada: Anyone who says that teachers are overpaid needs to go sit in the back of a Gr. 7 class for an hour. Then think of the teacher who deals with that fucking hell day-in-day out. The marks possibly hundreds of papers and assignments each night.
I believe teachers deserve every penny they get... And much more.
One of my favourite teachers, my science teacher, used to stay in the school, alone, until the last possible second (that being when the alarms automatically turned on, midnight) marking papers and such.
Go deal with any teenager for any amount of time and I'm sure you'll be feeling that you should have been paid for that mentally exhausting experience. Actually, I spent 25 years teaching grade 7. I found it exhausting but very much fun. However,as I got older, my energy levels began to flag and so I moved up to teaching 10 - 12, mostly maths and science, for the final five years. Then I moved out to live in the lap of luxury with my pension. Bags and bags of cash every month.

Clearly, the solution here is to require teachers to have combat training.

ShepherdsDog ShepherdsDog: It's like asking which is more important, air power or land power. I won't include seapower because it is far more important than either. ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif)
