BartSimpson BartSimpson: commanderkai commanderkai: It looks awesome, but for somebody who didn't follow the original series, who is this bad guy supposed to be? From what I've read, JJ Abrams. Yeah I'm sure I've said that once or twice. I am glad that Star Trek is being revived, although I can't help but feel like destroying Vulcan was a bit...too much.

The size of that Federation-esque dreadnaught facing the Enterprise just nuked all the previous speculation about Cumberbatch's villain is supposed to be.

New Man Of Steel trailer. This looks more and more like it could be the best Superman movie ever made. The philosophy behind this stuff usually cheers me up for some reason.

Looks like its going to be another bore fest. 3 hour movie, with 2.45 hours blah blah blah and 15 minutes of some actual superhero action.

Ok, am I the only person on the face of this planet that thinks Ironman 3 was a total let down? I keep reading all these great reviews but I just went and saw it yesterday and I’m just floored by how disappointed I was. To me, the entire purpose of the movie was to close off the “Robert Downie” series and set up the franchise up for a complete and total reboot down the road because it certainly didn’t aspire to what I think most fans were hoping for; an action packed, ass whoopin super hero flik that was worthy of following the last Ironman and Avengers movies.
*********************SPOILER ALLERT*********************
Instead what we got was a completely toned down mediocre action/comedy filk. I think if actually timed how much screen time Tony Stark spends in his Ironman suit it would amount to little more than a couple of minutes. Instead we get to follow along as Stark tries relentlessly to get his Mk 42 suit working to no avail. Never mind that at the end of the movie we discover that he has a whole plethora of other operational suits that he could have summoned up at any given time! No instead of doing that we get to see Stark head down to the local Home Depot and make a bunch of homemade weapons so he can attack the Mandarins hide out. Woop tee doo’, oh and of course the best the guy can do is a portable nail gun and explosive Christmas ornaments, never mind this is the same guy who is some sort of weapons genius and the same person who built the first Ironman out of scrap.
The only really kewl part is at the end when all the other suits show up to help Stark defeat Killian but it’s like they spent the entire special effects budget on the last 10 minutes of the movie. Even this part is disappointing as none of the suits are on screen long enough to get a good look at them before they all get ripped to shreds!
I really long for the good old days when the 3rd movie of a trilogy was the best of the three, not this “let’s set it up so someone else can reboot the series 3 or 4 years from now” attitude.

I saw it yesterday, and yeah, Iron Man 3 was extremely "meh" to me. Can somebody tell me the reason why the soldiers that were exposed to Extremis went all batshit evil?
But yeah, a pretty big letdown, I gotta say. I was expecting something more.

commanderkai commanderkai: Can somebody tell me the reason why the soldiers that were exposed to Extremis went all batshit evil? Because of a low mimimum wage and income inequalities? (Hi, Andy! ![Drink up [B-o]](./images/smilies/drinkup.gif) )

I think with all the gaping wide plot holes and contradictions aside what it really comes down to is suit time. If you want to go see how Tony Stark over comes his inner demons in a quasi-comedic fashion then you’ll be fine with this but if you were expecting to see Ironman flying around kicking butt and saving the day you’ll be terribly disappointed.

I just saw IM3 Imax 3d. First of all, dont waste your money with the 3D I actually even forgot it was suppose to be 3D until the credits started to roll. Probably a post production conversion, only they forgot to convert it !
As a movie it was ok, but as Iron Man 3 it was pffft ! Avengers would have been a better Iron Man 3
Oh and for the first time I went into a movie without any pre conceived notion because other than the first 20 sec teaser trailer that came out. I had not read anything on it, seen any other trailers or seen any TV junkets on it, so I had no clue what it was about at all.

Another? And I haven't watched any of the Riddick movies!

Pitch Black was great. Chronicles Of Riddick was so-so first time around but improves greatly as an epic after multiple viewings. The new film is supposed to be closer to Pitch Black in tone than Chronicles was.
