Hello all,

I received the following email from Don today. I took it upon myself to spread the word, so if you are able to help, it would be appreciated.

Many thanks,
Todd

Folks:

It's been a long time since I've sent anything out to you as a group. Most of you, by now, are Found Canadians, having your citizenship restored. Believe me, that battle was not easy and certainly not cheap. It took years of fighting, and quite honestly hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As the current Minister of Citizenship likes to say, 95% of Lost Canadians now have the right of citizenship. As an airline pilot, I look at things a little differently. Yes, 95% was a huge victory, but what about the remaining 5%? If I ditch an airplane in the Hudson river, do you want your pilot happy if they only resue 95 people while leaving 5 to die? That's not success in my playbook- I want them all.

Prior to Bill C-37 there were 12 ways a person could be stripped of their citizenship. C-37 corrected nine of those ways, leaving three, with C-37 creating three. That means, today there are six distinct ways a person ould be told they have no right of citizenship. The government of Canada is currently denying people based entirely on gender, age, and family status- all three protected categories in human rights. What I'm saying is that it's illegal to discriiminate, except of course if you're the Canadian government. Then you do pretty much whatever you want.

Carrots contain betacarotene, which makes them orange. Betacarotene aids in the retention of Vitamin A in humans. Overdoses of Vitamin A turn human skin orange. So, if you eat enough carrots, you'll resemble one. Even moreso if you wear a green hat.

If you don't believe me, Google up a photo of the Boston Marathon from the '70s when all the runners were drinkin' carrot juice...ORANGE SKIN, the lot. It looked like a goddamn Muppet race.

The edible portion of the carrot is called the taproot. Well, that's not strictly true. You COULD eat the whole carrot plant. Since none of it is poisonous, none of it is truly inedible. But the green tops taste like a bum's nutsack.

I'd be shocked to discover you knew the names of the Jersey Shore animals but then again... you are Dutch.

It's a site that deals with Canadians that are having trouble with Canadian Citizenship,

usually children born outside wedlock during WW2, who were not automatically
given Canadian citizenship, which didnt exist until 1947.

Grew up here, paid taxes, lived for 60 years, voted, some served in the
military..

and now there are questions about their citizenship, when they are now
applying for OAP and medical care.

Kind of weird, but for the life of me I dont see why the majority
dont qualify just based on the time they haved lived in Canada.

Just the government doing government things; but for some,
it may be something to keep an eye on.

I admit, I am vertically challenged... But not THAT challenged...
Also, I consider myself to be blessed with an IQ higher than 78 (which may be arrogance on my part, but so be it ) and I don't stand on my head to shake my ass... Just sayin' :P
